The way episode 5 ended...

SLAY YOU FUCKING QUEEN! HOLY SHIT.

A true goosebump moment!

Oh my GOD when Frank shouted

''Help! Help! The secretary has fallen''

at the start of episode 12 I nearly spontaneously combusted.

Im'ma spoiler everything else just IN CASE.

I have very mixed feelings about this season.

The Trump overtures, especially obvious in the asides during inauguration and also when he was testifying before the committee left a shade uneasy. The connection didn't need to be SO OVERT, perhaps. Plus the first 11 episodes rang largely without shock or surprise. Then the final pair of episodes totally upended everything (even though Frank resigning itself was not a shock, nor was Leanne being offed or Claire poisoning Tom). Usher and Jane were very odd additions, they seemed to be near omnipotent in their ability to manage events and situations, but at least it came out good in the end. Yet it was also the most addicted I've been to any season of the show. Plus Claire getting a larger role was always going to be a winner.

The final 4 episodes really helped the rest of the series! I found it watchable from the start, but apart from a couple of storyline moments, nothing really popped out until those last few episodes. Such an expertly crafted TV show! The final shots of every season are by far the most thrilling and important though! This one was no different!

"MY TURN!"

I SQUEALED!!!!

So excited for season 6!

The sixth and next season is confirmed to be the show’s last after today’s allegations...oops.

Literally just got round to finally watching the show a couple of weeks ago, nearly finished season 1 so a bit frustrating on a personal matter! I’m glad it’s not going on forever and, who knows when it would have actually ended but this is quite major news considering the series is one of Netflix’s trademark and big name shows and when they’ve hardly ended any of their original shows!

Wonder what will happen to Kevin Spacey’s career considering they pulled the plug on this so quickly and what will happen as a result of likely further allegations against big names stars...

I feel like S6 was probably going to be the end anyway, this way makes it seem less like it was cancelled. Which is cynical, but hey.

Yeah. I also felt like 6 was the last. In fact, I'm more certain of it, otherwise they would have just straight out cancelled it.

I really can't process these allegations properly at all. Im proper heartbroken by them! :(

It needed to end soon anyway (plus I am sure 6 year contracts are the norm for TV). The timing does seem pretty odd though, obviously they have announced it today with the allegations, but still.. weird timing.
The thing is, the show was cancelled because of those allegations. If it were going to be the last season, it would have been announced already. That gives the impression that if Kevin Spacey was going down, he’d take the rest of the cast and crew down with him, which is disgusting.

The next and final season will have 8 episodes and, rather obviously, focus on Claire Underwood.

Interesting that they’ve reduced the amount of episodes but not particularly suprising!

It wasn't strictly announced to be the last season, but it was heavily rumoured and made sense to be the last anyway due to the closing story arcs etc. With the last season ending with Claire talking to the camera it definitely started a "the tables are turning" sequence where she'll turn against Frank and take over his power leaving him in the dust. I'm just as disgusted by the allegations as anyone else, but I think they were planning on shifting the focus from Frank to Claire anyway - so there's a silver lining at least.
