He's kind of slowly moving into the 'heritage' box as the years go on - he's clearly not the young Take That/early solo pin-up of the 90s or the absolutely massive superstar he was at the beginning of the noughties, but as the success of 'Candy' has shown he's still definitely a hit-maker. The Elton John comparison may well prove right.

As for One Direction being bigger than Take That...yeah, let's wait a few years first. :P Look at how huge, say, Bros were in 1988, and how quickly they then disappeared...

From a few days ago, and not exactly related to this topic, but I see Nick Grimshaw still isn't doing himself any favours: http://www.musicweek.com/news/read/nick-gr...iew-snub/052666

Grimshaw told listeners that he was not going to promote Rihanna’s new album Unapologetic over the course of this week.

"I'm going to have a tantrum because it's my favourite pop star,” he said.

“We're not even mentioning her. We're not gonna promote it now," Grimshaw told his listeners, before adding: "We were kind of forced into having Rihanna as our Record Of The Week because we were going to do a big interview with her, but once it was cancelled we changed it. She ruined my week. Nice one Rihanna."

I didn't mind him when he first started the Breakfast show, but now he's just become so unlikable!

Actually, the interview was rescheduled for Sunday's X Factor results show in Rihanna's dressing room, which was aired on Tuesday.

As Nick said on Monday, it was just the press making a big deal out of things.

I understand the press will have made things bigger than they were, and Grimshaw's comments probably had a hint of sarcasm, but I could just imagine the way he said them and he's just so childish and acts like a ten year old girl.

I doubt Rihanna will ever read or listen to this comment.

Grim is really witch-hunting.

Perhaps making all these negative comments about the most popular artists is how he plans to get attention on his show for now, and it is working. This battle of musical quality is far from over, I bet he will be bashed back by sb else sooner or later
