That would have been in the top 10 maybe. Candle In The Wind was MASSIVE in 1997, it went to #1 pretty much everywhere. Diana's funeral was equally huge then, all the cartoons, TV programmes and even Match Of The Day got cancelled because of it.

 

Her funeral is the 2nd most viewed special event of all time in the UK alone so Elton John's performance at the funeral would have been seen by billions of people.

She died on a Sunday and they even cancelled the Radio One Chart Show because of it.

That's how massive an event it was!

I'm sure lots of Christmas songs would be in the Top 10 most viewed on YouTube if it were around in the 70s/80s.
