November 29, 201212 yr Well, there it is - PSY beating Miley's record for weeks at #1 on Digital Songs without ever topping the Hot 100. Real shame he never managed it, would it be the first Asian-language song to ever top the H100 like it was on the UK singles chart? Phillip Phillips' chart run is absolutely ridiculous, that's 3 separate runs in the top 10 each separated by at least 2 months and re-peaking each time: 10-41-99-x-x-x-x-96-x-84-9-9-17-23-21-22-23-22-27-25-19-17-14-13-14-12-8-... The Lumineers also have an incredibly impressive run although less odd-looking: 90-73-74-77-73-64-57-56-55-49-48-42-37-35-38-32-36-40-32-27-19-17-13-8-7-... Edited November 29, 201212 yr by Bré

I know the Olympics is partly responsible, but what keeps propelling this song?

November 29, 201212 yr Ed Sheeran starting to do to the top 20 what he was doing to the top 40 a few weeks ago - edging 1 or 2 places closer each week but not quite getting there. Woo for further progress of 'Sweet Nothing' and 'I Found You'!
November 29, 201212 yr Phillip Phillips' chart run is absolutely ridiculous, that's 3 separate runs in the top 10 each separated by at least 2 months and re-peaking each time: 10-41-99-x-x-x-x-96-x-84-9-9-17-23-21-22-23-22-27-25-19-17-14-13-14-12-8-... If that was in the UK, it would've debuted in the top 10 and dropped out the top 40 the following week. I know so many people on this forum would be so pissed off about that chart run, and say it free-falled because the song was bad and because it was a flop. And then after the resurgance they would change their mind and decide it's a good song.

November 29, 201212 yr I still have faith "Oath". I remember when "Want U Back" was in the same position. Edited November 29, 201212 yr by Dillan
November 29, 201212 yr Want U Back was never in the same position of simultaneously dying on radio and stalling on iTunes. At least not until it had spend a couple of weeks top 10.
November 29, 201212 yr Well, there it is - PSY beating Miley's record for weeks at #1 on Digital Songs without ever topping the Hot 100. Real shame he never managed it, would it be the first Asian-language song to ever top the H100 like it was on the UK singles chart? Kyu Sakamoto's Sukiyaki (Japanese) was the first in 1963.
November 29, 201212 yr Want U Back was never in the same position of simultaneously dying on radio and stalling on iTunes. At least not until it had spend a couple of weeks top 10. I mean I remember when "Want U Back" was in the bubbling under chart.
November 29, 201212 yr I have a nasty feeling Diamonds will continue to block Die Young. What kind of Bad Romance karma? :drama:
November 29, 201212 yr The Teenage Dream era is finally over. With 'Wide Awake' dropping out this week, this is the first time since May 2010 (when 'California Gurls' made it's debut) that Katy Perry hasn't had a song on the Hot 100. Woo at 'I Found You' re-entering at a new peak, COULD STILL BE A HIT YET.
November 29, 201212 yr I mean I remember when "Want U Back" was in the bubbling under chart. Well yeah but that was entirely different. It was completely obvious that WUB would be Bubbling Under for a very short period of time whereas with Oath, it's hard to see it getting much higher right now.
