Lots of countries seem to be sending dance tracks this year - Germany, Slovenia, Ireland, Belarus ect - so maybe a powerballad will stand out as being different to the rest. I think Loreen won last year due to the fact that her song/style was totally different to anything else in that contest. This year there are a lot of dance tracks, and they might cancel each other out during the voiting - so i'm hoping that the UK enters something totally different...Paloma Faith, Dido, maybe that Bo from The Voice?

Belarus have not confirmed their song yet. Just sayin'

Rita Ora has been saying how glad she is she withdrew from the UK's Eurovision 2009 selection as if she hadn't 'it will have all been over for her and at best she'd probably have ended up on Splash!'

I'm so happy Jade has responded saying how proud she is of doing Eurovision and Splash, I hope she knows how proud we are of her!

Kim Wilde has decided to randomly start tweeting Eurovision lyrics (wrongly). Could it be a clue? :o

Kim Wilde :o yes please.

I hope its neither Kim Wilde or Bonnie Tyler. Both would have been great entries about 20 years ago - but i'm hoping we enter something much more current this year. If the BBC cant find a big name that's had more recent success, i'd rather we send a young unknown singer (with a good voice) and a modern song. I'd be embarassed if we send another ancient artist, when most of the other countries are entering younsters with chart friendly songs..

To be fair, it's not as if Kim Wilde has been absent from music since the 1980's. This single from 2010 was actually rather brilliant...

Shame how this was never big in the UK <3 Modern classic.

Agreed, amazing song. I guess a 12 from Germany would be secured. She's about as relevant there as Cascada are to the UK
Kim and the UK have never been the optimal pairing anyhow if you ask me, always underrated. It started as early as her debut took place... with the whole Blondie comparison. Don't feel she ever has been respected the way she should have.

Kim Wilde - In 1993 yes, in fact she was asked to do it in 1994....she said no. I think she'd have beaten "Rock N Roll Kids" easily. However, now would not be right. She's a bit old. Ditto Bonnie Tyler. Her voice is not as a good as it was back in the 80s and 90s.

If it is a power ballad....we came 5th last time round with one so it could be good news. Why not someone semi-famous? Birdy maybe? or that one who sang the KFC song two years ago "We are one big family"? Gabrielle Climi is a possibility - something like "Defender" could go top 5 in Eurovision.

How about Birdy/Charlene Soraira

Amazing.

One of the best songs I discovered back in 2003. The UK charts were so US Billboard Hot 100 that year it hurt. :(
