That's right, Canada is finally getting it's own Big Brother Franchise.

Because it airs on a network I work for - I was ineligible to apply

Big Brother Canada will premiere on February 27th 2013, and will take be played out like the American Version (competition vs. public decision).

Big Brother Canada will air 3 times a week; Wednesdays at 9PM, Thursdays at 10PM and Sundays at 9PM. Big Brother Afterdark will also air from 2AM - 5AM nightly on the Slice Network, however nobody has confirmed whether or not we are getting live feeds or not.

What makes this series interesting is that it will be filmed in a Studio, even the outdoors will be indoors and the lighting controlled. There will be a real outside area for smokers, but with this being filmed right in the middle of winter, the house will be in a studio.

All very exciting - they'd better not f*** this up..

I'm hesitant on that as well.. I did see a picture of the outside today and they did a great job.

Not much you can really do in the middle of winter in Canada - although it's filming in Toronto, I don't see it being above 10c for the launch.

You work for Slice? :o

I'm very excited for this, hope it'll be easy enough to find online even with the network and that it does well, can't wait to get my Big Brother fix (using this format) twice a year. I hope the competitions are as "big", and that whoever they get to host it is as fabulous as Julie.

I hope it takes out everything bad about BBUSA and makes it GOOD. Less cheesy presentation/formatting/hosting please.

I work for Shaw, who owns Shaw Media (used to be Canwest) who owns Global, Slice and a whole bunch of other stations. I'm sure I could have auditioned and had I made it far, made the decision on what to do.. but maybe next year!

Honestly, the only person who jumps out for me as host would be Cheryl Hickey.. LOVVVVE her.

Hm I always think it seems a bit unfair to allow someone back in but given Gary is amazing and everyone else is shit, I can overlook that one.
