Janine proving she is still the ULTIMATE SOAP VILLAIN. No one can compete. My favourite character ever in any television programme.

Tuesday's episode received an audience of 7.4m whilst Monday's was viewed by 7.76m - it's highest since April! :o Nice to see things looking up!
Not liking the new family The Spraggans, I keep on thinking Lucy Spraggan is going to turn up next.

People can bang on about Emmerdale beating Eastenders for a some episodes over a couple of month but EastEnders has managed to stay ahead of Emmerdale just as much. My point is EastEnders is/has gone through a terrible patch where Emmerdale by many is/was at its peak the last few months and yet EastEnders ratings wise is still up there. Dont get me wrong i have really enjoyed Emmerdale over the last few months and was happy to see them win best soap at the inside soap awards but the press/ eastenders haters have over reacted in a sense to the ratings decline.

EastEnders has some work ahead to get back on track but this time next year i am convinced they will pull completely away from Emmerdale in the ratings war and match Coronation Street too. I think the tied is slowly turning in the show, i will admit as a true fan there was a few months where i found it hard to watch but i have and will stick with it.

The new executive by reports seems to know the show and i seem to have a confidence he will turn things around. I do wonder what will be the main focus of this years christmas storyline, i am thinking it will be a reunited Kat and Alfie with a very united ronnie and roxy plotting against them!!

Would make sense if

Charlie is returning

. It can be much worse than last year's Christmas! :P

Kat & Alfie reuniting? If that's the big xmas storyline then how dull! Last decent xmas ep was 2010 when Stacey left. Last year in particular was terrible.
I would think Kat and Alfie will be wont part of the storyline with Roxy finding out the other. Kat is far better without Alfie and i would love Kat to stay and Alfie to leave.

"Aunt Sal" is back next week for Roxy's hen night

- I was wondering what happened to her! :P

:w00t: So excited!

Loved tonight's episode... and I literally forgot about Shirley, we never knew what happened to her, hopefully we soon find out.
EE is really rather good again of late. Very excited by the arrival of the Carters and it's an absolute joy seeing David and Carol back at the heart of the drama. Seriously good actors.
I think I just twigged who the girl is that died in the accident. (Jake & Sadie storyline).

How could you have?

Anyway excellent last night. It was quite surreal but very enjoyable to spend so much time in the company of two characters who until now were almost blank canvasses. Terrific twist with their secret. Jac Jossa was wonderful too.

Who?

Yeah last night's episode was great, hopefully things are on the up for the show. I'd forgotten Sadie was even in it tbf, glad she's finally doing something (and it's great to see her in this after she was in Primeval a few years ago!).
Who?

Its probably a long shot and clutching at straws, depends how long ago the incident was and how recent... Danielle

What? That was Janine

Oh yeah scrape that thought

I echo previous comments, Eastenders is vastly improving now: I've just caught up on this week's episodes and they've had a good mix of serious drama and comedy (not anything really cheesy and forced though). I've liked the development of Sadie and Jake's characters - like Jark noted, they're much more 3D now - and the introduction of Shirley's sister, she's so funny! I'm intrigued to see and learn about Shirley's other family now; I like that the producers have introduced a new family of a character who has been in the show for years rather than bringing a completely new one in.

I've also noticed that Joey has improved a lot too! :o

Carol Jackson is going to be diagnosed with breast cancer in the new year, which explains Sonia's return

Obviously the producers of soaps have got together and are sharing storylines, but I'm sure it'll still be interesting to see how Eastenders tackle it.
