Posted December 17, 201212 yr Hey, i have noticed that pink in terms of album selling and popularity in general has gone down quite a bit since her funhouse, greatest hits days. Is that true or is my vibrator too high?
December 17, 201212 yr I assume you speak of her UK sales. She has already sold 340,000 copies with The Truth About Love with 2 singles and we know she milks every album. How much did the GH sell? She's also the only one of my favourite this year not to flop (The Killers, Kelly Clarkson, Girls Aloud, McFly, Green Day, No Doubt, Madonna). Edited December 17, 201212 yr by Marina Hurts
December 17, 201212 yr I don't think so, she's had a massive amount of success with Funhouse and Greatest Hits...So Far!!! did very well, so it was to be expected that her sales for this album would be much less. She's doing fine so far, especially recently where she's sold almost 60k last week and hopefully over 50k this week.
December 17, 201212 yr I dont think she is on the decline. The album has sold 340,000 so far and will probably be very near 400,000 when this week is added in and thats with only 2 singles, im sure future singles will keep the album selling and she will have no trouble going double platinum at the least. Also both singles so far have gone top 10 and both will manage 300,000 plus sales. We must remember album sales are down on when she last released and album so in overall terms i think she is doing ok. Also when you look at albums by Leona and Madonna for example Pink is doing very well as both mentioned struggled for 100,000 sales with Leona well away from it as it stands.
December 17, 201212 yr She has declined for me personally, just because the Funhouse era was one of my favourite times stanning for an artist so nothing she released after could top it, but i don't think she's lost popularity in the mainstream. Her album sales are very good considering the climate, and she got her first appearance on X Factor etc, so is very much still in the public eye!
December 17, 201212 yr No way is she In decline in the uk, the albums already reached Platinum, which is great, and its still pretty early in this era, so there's plenty of time for her to keep selling albums, look at Britney, Christina, Jennifer, etc. they've all bombed with their latest efforts. I'd be much more concerned with them.

December 17, 201212 yr Well yes, so far the era has been less successful than say Funhouse, but to be honest it's not a true decline. She's still doing fantastically, and never really had a 'flop' era, I think she's the most consistent pop female aside from maybe Rihanna (even then her first two eras were proportionally a lot less successful than Good Girl Gone Bad onwards) that I can think of.
December 17, 201212 yr I think this album is considered by some as a 'decline' because the funhouse era was so popular/f***ing awesome this has kinda been the difficult follow up. To me it was like how try this was compared to missundaztood. Pink has always been an underdog and rarely gets the recognition she deserves, but that's one of the things I love about her, she never gives up and always amazes people who don't realise how amazing she really is (eg glitter Grammy performance)
December 18, 201212 yr Pink is probably the best performing female in terms of consistency. She has yet to have a flop era, all her albums are long terms sellers. Her albums have chart longevity, they dont just sell for a few weeks and disappear, and all her single releases boost her album sales. Rihanna at the moment is the only female outselling her but i dont count Rihanna in that much as she churns out albums like we eat hot dinners. The Truth About Love era has plenty of mileage yet, she has to tour the album and release more singles, and in relation to funhouse didn't that get a full re-release that really boosted its sales?

I suppose she isnt in decline then. I never knew her album went platnum. Just checked the album charts and it is actually in the top 10! How come? X factor was 2 weeks ago.
December 22, 201212 yr Album sales have declined over the past few years so difficult to compare properly and the current album campaign isnt over yet. I would expect the album to shift about half a million by the end of this year.

I would expect the album to shift about half a million by the end of this year. You expect it to sell jusrt shy of 200K in about a week? At most it might just reach 400K by the end of the year. I can see it stalling at about 600K after the era ends, which is good enough.

I can see it stalling at about 600K after the era ends, which is good enough. Its already upto 414k, so it will probably have sold around 450-460k by end of this year, so I wasn't far off from predicting 500k. I'm sure it will continue to sell well over 2013.
January 1, 201312 yr Including last week sales the truth about love is very close to 450,000. Pink always has strong chart runs with her album, so with 2 singles to go i think the album has plenty of sales left in it yet, plus its still in the top 20 in the UK.
January 1, 201312 yr Also, I have a feeling that 'Just Give Me A Reason' is going to be a mega album seller.
January 1, 201312 yr Yes, i think it will also lift album sales nicely, it is the type of song that can sell an album.
March 22, 201312 yr Just reading over this thread and prediction about just give me a reason turned out to be very true.
March 22, 201312 yr Although the album is sub-par by her own high standards, I'm actually starting to quite enjoy it. The bonus tracks are considerably better than most of the main tracklist.
