December 31, 201212 yr Author Well I think we know what #1 is going to be. :D The big question is will we share #1s of 2012? :o Also  for the Gotye write up and name check. Seriously though, even I never expected 'Somebody That I Used To Know' to become THAT big in the UK. It's really is a classic case of a track managing to appeal to a broader audience hence why its continued selling so well. Also like the fact it progressed 36-21-07-03-01 in the UK charts. In fact, I think mine and randomfurlong's are the only 2 charts where Gotye actually debuted at #1. Of course it had enough time to really grow on me before I charted it. Not sure if you've had chance to check out my latest weekly chart but Delta has MADE MY TOP 10!!! (GD in celebration mode :w00t: :yahoo: ) with 'Hunters And The Wolves'. As Delta's #1 fan, please can you tell me if 'Believe Again' was released after 'In This Life' as the latter made #6 in my chart yet I can't recall how it goes. :drama: (I'm guessing it was released in 2004) Will be interesting to see! Well you should have done far better in the first place with the Gotye song, although I guess everyone was still warming up to it. But it was a huge grower for most people, it's just one of those songs! Nice, I'll check out the weekly charts in the next couple of days, thanks for supporting so many of my BJSC entries this year, to the point that two of them are in your end of year top 40 :o Yes Believe Again was released after In This Life, in fact it was the single after that. In This Life was the lead single from the 2007 Delta album, Believe Again was second. It goes 'you give me love...you give me light' :P :D Fantastic top 2, both are in the higher echelons of my chart and great paragraph for both of them (although I will continually wish for Owl City to have as many more hits as his luck allows him to). Euphoria is stunning even now, and I never expected anything else to top your chart really, I'd forgotten just how many weeks it had spent at #1 for you. Well yeah, I really like Owl City too and have a few of his albums but his sound doesn't lend too well to continued hits, Good Time isn't very typical of his other work! I agree, never get bored of it. Ghosty beat me on the weeks at #1 front but it was still a ridiculously long time at the top, Delta's recent 6 weeks for Hunters and the Wolves seemed long enough, that was three times that amount almost! BOSS. LorQueen rightfully seated on her throne  Yes indeed  Surely there was never a doubt that Loreen would be your #1 of 2012. Likewise with Ghosty. I'm going to be counting down my top 10 tracks of 2012 over the next hour or so and Loreen is yet to feature. :D The pair of us and Jonjo have been the biggest Euphoria fans on BJ, I'm surprised we didn't get a collective nomination for 'most pathetic loon' in the awards

December 31, 201212 yr The pair of us and Jonjo have been the biggest Euphoria fans on BJ, I'm surprised we didn't get a collective nomination for 'most pathetic loon' in the awards  There is nothing pathetic about how much I like Euphoria! :P :kink: My likes and comments on your top 60 singles :D 1. Loreen - Euphoria Fantastic number one, I too had forgotten how many weeks it had spent at the top of your chart! :o The song is sensational though and has already skyrocketed into my top 10 songs of all time! 2. Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time 3. Delta Goodrem - Hunters And The Wolves Pleased this is doing well for you in TBO, it was my favourite entry of yours in 2012 so it's well deserved! 4. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know 5. Rae Morris - Don't Go 6. Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 7. Delta Goodrem - Wish You Were Here 9. Swedish House Mafia feat John Martin - Don't You Worry Child 10. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium I did prefer She Wolf personally, but this is quite the dance anthem! 11. ATB feat Ramona Nerra - Never Give Up 12. Delta Goodrem - Sitting On Top Of The World 13. Girls Aloud - Something New 14. Agnes - One Last Time I prefer the dance version, but both versions are wonderful. I was a little disappointed the dance version wasn't included as a bonus track on the album, along with Don't Go Breaking Me Heart 15. Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe Never a huge hit for me, but I can't help but bop along to it if it comes on the radio or something  16. PSY - Gangnam Style I would like this song to go away for a bit tbh, I really liked it at first but it's become a little too much to take now! 17. Haloo Helsinki! - Maailman Toisella Puolen 18. Whigfield - 4Ever Was not expecting Whigfield to produce one of my top 20 strongest albums of 2012 if I'm honest! 19. Björn Ranelid feat Sara Li - Mirakel , it is a classic! It would have completely bombed if it had been sent to Baku though! 21. Danny Saucedo - Amazing Poor Danny, I'm confident this would have won Eurovision too had it been sent 22. Delta Goodrem - Dancing With A Broken Heart 25. Sam & The Womp - Bom Bom If this could be a huge UK smash hit, then why couldn't Moja Stikla or Hora Din Moldova have been? :kink: 26. Mandinga - Zaleilah 27. Saint Etienne - Over The Border 29. Cover Drive - Twilight 30. Robbie Williams - Candy 31. Cheryl - Call My Name 32. David Guetta feat Sia - She Wolf (Falling To Pieces) 34. Loreen - My Heart Is Refusing Me I do prefer the original version, but it is such a strong song nevertheless. I really hope it gets some sort of push in the UK next year, even though it's highly unlikely 35. Kelly Clarkson - Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) 37. Michel Teló - Ai Se Eu Te Pego (Nossa Nossa) 38. Mr Little Jeans - Runaway 39. Steps - Light Up The World Hmm, their album left a lot to be desired! Hopefully it's (deserved) flop won't put them off releasing a properly brilliant brand new album next year 42. Laleh - Some Die Young 43. Engelbert Humperdinck - Love Will Set You Free Nice enough, but it was never going to do well at Eurovision. I hope the BBC have something brilliant up their sleeves for 2013, I doubt it though :( 44. fun. feat Janelle Monae - We Are Young 46. Ivi Adamou - La La Love Best Cypriot entry in years! I had my doubts about whether it could do well in Baku and wasn't sure if it would reach the final, but I'm really pleased it did and then went on to chart in the UK top 100! 47. Charlotte Perrelli - The Girl 48. Little Mix - Wings 53. Freja Loeb - Never Stop Coming Back 54. Christina Aguilera - Your Body 55. Girls Aloud - Beautiful Cause You Love Me I really hope the girls can turn the luck of this track around next month, but I sadly wouldn't be surprised if it's single release is shelved now :( 56. Of Monsters & Men - Little Talks 60. Florence + The Machine - Spectrum (Say My Name) (Calvin Harris Remix) Fantastic EOY chart on the whole as per usual! :D

:D Thanks Ghosty! 1. It's embarrassingly high in my favourite songs ever chart, although it hasn't yet unseated N-Trance's Set You Free, and with a chart run it had for me this year, I wonder if anything ever will unseat that song? 3. Thanks, hope it can do alright in the final, I adore it! 10. At least somebody did :heehee: although I do really like She Wolf too! 14. I'm not fussed about the dance version but I'm gutted at the exclusion of DGBMH! 15. It didn't have a chart run to suggest it would finish in my EOY top 15, but it's one of those songs that I continue to love! 18. Likewise me and one of my top 20 singles, she's still got it! 19. Last in the semi for sure, as it was an acquired joke but I'm so glad that I 'got' it  21. I don't think it would have beaten the Russian grannies but 2nd for sure! He's destined not to go to Eurovision  25. Indeed, can you imagine? Maybe Sam & The Womp should cover a Severina song for their second single! Had it been a Eurovision entry, Bom Bom would have been a flash in the pan hit or flop in the UK, sad but true :( 34. Both versions are really good although it's the original that went to #2 for me, the remix took it back as high as #10... 39. I didn't even chart it in my top 40 of the year, it was pretty good for about a fortnight but only as a passing curiosity, I want a proper big pop album from them! 43. Same, apparently they have a big name, but who knows what their idea of a big name is, I'm sure Engelbert was, what with his record sales 45 years ago and all! They don't need a big name, just an incredible song! 46. Such a shame that it just missed the UK top 75, a la Popular last year, both deserved to make it so much. At least it was a big hit in Sweden :P Hi Rich :D 1. Loreen - Euphoria Wow what a shock #1 I never knew you liked this! :o :kink: It didn't do quite as well in my chart, landing in at #33 - but that is very good for a Eurovision song! 2. Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time 4. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know 6. Taylor Swift - We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 8. Prance Faris - Flares 9. Swedish House Mafia feat John Martin - Don't You Worry Child 10. David Guetta feat Sia - Titanium 11. ATB feat Ramona Nerra - Never Give Up 13. Girls Aloud - Something New 15. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Only In My Dreams 100. Flo Rida feat Sia - Wild Ones Great Chart :D Thanks Daniel, yeah Euphoria isn't bad :o FANTASTIC number 1! Though was it ever going to be anything else! I'm so excited for this year's Melodifestivalen it's unreal, though I very much doubt they'll top 'Euphoria'. Indeed, such an amazing song, I'll never get over it! I can't wait either but indeed, how CAN they top perfection? They won't. Hey Rich! Can't fault that number 1 (or THAT pop bar lead ), and Good Time wasn't far off my own top 100 so that's good too! Brilliant top 10 albums too, I like them all to some extent but especially Emeli, Nicki, Lana and of course Kelly, all of which made my top 10 of 2012 (or 2011 in Kelly's case :P) From your top 100 I like: 1. Loreen - Euphoria  2. Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time 3. Delta Goodrem - Hunters And The Wolves  4. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know  5. Flo Rida feat Sia - Wild Ones Cheers Liam, the pop bars were ridiculous, the top three was so close in my EOY chart last year but there was no point even making a climactic finish this year, Euphoria was always going to walk it! I don't know why Stronger took so long to properly click with me as an album, I guess I just paid more attention to it during early 2012 than in the Xmas rush!
January 1, 201312 yr Author #20393 Just below OPA, but a couple of hundred thousand places above Thorsten Flinck :D
January 1, 201312 yr Hey Rich - great #1 (although unsurprising)! I'm shocked to see Owl City/Carly Rae as your second favourite (or favourite non-Loreen song of the year), it's great but their #1 hits are far better to my ears. I'm not that familiar with "Hunter and the Wolves" - I've heard it whilst listening to the album, but didn't pay much attention and haven't gone back to it, it must be good if it blocked Girls Aloud's comeback from #1 in your weekly chart though! I'm pleased to see Taylor high up as well, 2012 really shocked me with how successful she's been, especially in the UK. Also great to see Girls Aloud appear twice - "Beautiful Cause You Love Me" missed my top fifty - I do like it, although it pales in comparison to their previous ballads. Again, I'm not too familiar with your #1 album, but I'm pleased to see somebody else is a big fan of Emeli's début, despite her overexposure in 2012! I can't say I'm as big a fan as Lana Del Rey's album, either. I like some of the songs individually, but it's all too much for one sitting.

I can't imagine too many charts will place Good Time above Call Me Maybe but it was my #1 defining anthem of a brilliant summer so it sort of has memories attached to it which always help! Something New is of course excellent but GA have always had more #2's in my chart than #1's, The Promise was a one-off of course, that is an absolutely perfect pop song, Something New is great but still feels a tiny bit disjointed in parts to be called perfect. I agree with you about Taylor, although the success is fully deserved! Yeah, Emeli was overexposed for a reason, she's great! I can't get enough of her album and it ran Delta fairly close in the end actually :o

January 2, 201312 yr Thanks Theo! I agree with you about Taylor, although the success is fully deserved! Yeah, Emeli was overexposed for a reason, she's great! I can't get enough of her album and it ran Delta fairly close in the end actually :o Haha - this is true! I do feel like I'm the only person that I know in real life that knows "Good Time" though. It feels very underrated, despite selling quite well. I agree completely that "Something New" isn't perfect, but it was a great comeback single that really said they were back, before its unfortunate flop :( I hope Taylor chooses the right singles from Red to sustain the success into 2013 :D Very true about Emeli, although her singles success (minus "Next to Me", "Beneath Your Beautiful" and "Read All About It (Part III) at a push) doesn't really translate into how huge she was, especially with "Clown" just creeping into the top fourty after an X Factor final slot! I look forward to hearing what she comes up with next though.
