31. My #1 song of 2011 makes it as high as #31 in 2012! :o Rihanna's 'We Found Love' spent 20 weeks in my chart this year, with its highest position being #2 at the very beginning of the year. This song achieved the rare feat of becoming Diamond certified.

 

32. Chris Brown - 'Don't Wake Me Up' is one of Bre's favourite songs of the year.

 

33. Debut single 'Young' by N-Dubz front-woman Tulisa was a #3 hit with me in May. Her two follow up singles failed to crack my Top 20, though 'Live It Up' with its #21 peak did enough to end up 197th in my EOY chart.

 

34. And here is the biggest non-Top 5 hit of the year! Although Swedish House Mafia - 'Don't You Worry Child' stalled at #6, it's already racked up 18 weeks in my chart - more than many Top 3 hits this year.

 

35. Lawson's highest placed single is 'Taking Over Me', which reached #2 in August. They were prevented from the top spot by Nicki Minaj's 'Pound The Alarm'.

30. 'Try' by P!nk only really got going her stunning performance of it at the American Music Awards helped it rocket up 35-10. A further performance on The X Factor helped it achieve its #4 peak.

22. The Wanted scored their third consecutive #2 hit in a row with 'Chasing The Sun', which was held off the top spot by Loreen's 'Euphoria'.

 

23. Girl group Stooshe did surprisingly well with 'Black Heart' in the UK, reaching #3 and receiving a Gold certification. It does exactly the same here. Debut single 'Love Me' and third release 'Waterfalls' fared less well, and aren't in my YE Top 100 (these singles are #106 and #116 respectively).

 

24. UK million-selling #1 single 'Call Me Maybe' by Carly Rae Jepsen performed a bit more modestly here, but nevertheless it still did very well, peaking at #3 and spending over 20 weeks in my chart overall.

 

25. Flo Rida's 'Wild Ones' is the biggest non-Top 3 hit of the year (it peaked at #4), and is the only one to be certified Gold. It stayed in my Top 20 for 12 weeks.

16. Calvin Harris' previous four lead singles peaked at #2, #3, #5 and #4 - but 'Sweet Nothing' with Florence Welch went all the way to #1.

 

17. Lana Del Rey - 'Born To Die' first charted in December 2011, entering strongly at #2 (2011 YE - 87th, with 190 points). It climbed to #1 in January 2012. This split between two separate years means 'Born To Die' is only 17th in 2012, with 486 points. However, overall it is a Platinum success, and if I was basing my YE on feeling, rather than points, this would be undoubtedly in my Top 10. Lana's debut album 'Born To Die' is also my favourite record of the year.

 

18. Emeli Sandé achieved a #1 single in 2011 with 'Heaven', but it could only make it to 62nd in my 2011 YE chart - the lowest placed #1 of that year. Despite 'Next To Me' peaking a place lower at #2, it ended up being a far bigger hit than 'Heaven' overall, ranking in 18th place for 2012.

 

19. 'Turn Me On' by David Guetta (feat. Nicki Minaj) spent four consecutive weeks at the #2 position. Notably, it was actually Guetta & Minaj themselves that denied 'Turn Me On' from reaching #1 - Titanium', 'Give Me All Your Luvin'' and 'Starships' all prevented it!

 

20. Buzzjack darling Rita Ora spent a fortnight at #2 with 'How We Do (Party)'. This delightful tune has already achieved well over 500 plays on Umi's iTunes.

11. 'Titanium' is David Guetta's 5th #1 single, following 'When Love Takes Over' (2009), 'Gettin' Over You' (2010), 'Who's That Chick?' (2010) and 'Where Them Girls At' (2011).

 

12. A Calvin Harris re-working was the magic ingredient needed for Florence + The Machine to score their first ever #1 with me. In fact, it was their first Top 10. The success of 'Spectrum (Say My Name)' contributed towards 'Never Let Me Go' entering my chart for the first time (eventually peaking at #20) and 'Shake It Out' re-entering and achieving a new peak of #10.

 

13. Jennifer Lopez feat. Pitbull is clearly a winning combination - their 2011 collaboration 'On The Floor' was also a huge #1 hit (2011 YE: #3).

 

14. The highest placed #2 hit of the year belongs to Labrinth feat. Emeli Sandé, with 'Beneath Your Beautiful'. It was held off the top spot by Girls Aloud's 'Something New'.

 

15. Poor Misha B deserves far more success in reality, but at least she scored a #1 single with me!
