How common is that there are no new entries in top 40 (meaning that all songs in top 40 have been there before)?

In these weeks (last chart of a year / first chart of the next year) it's more or less expected.

This week however there's only one song in the entire top 100 which is not a former top 40 hit (David Guetta feat. Taped Rai - Just One Last Time at #88) - that's probably rarer!

Wow that's weird (and also depressing in a way)

On album chart the first Storyteller (at #31) should be Alfie Boe, btw,

And is NBTB by Guetta now combined? Argh hate this kind of mess..

Not updated the albums top 100 yet, that will be fixed when I get to it (probably today).

David Guetta has re-released the album again ('Nothing But The Beat Ultimate') and this version is combined to the original. Any further sales of '2.0' would still go to that in the chart, but I doubt it's selling very much now anyway.

Very re-entry heavy update this week. I've just assumed the album re-entries are due to price cuts (apart from Spice Girls), put a ? next to ones which aren't <£5 on iTunes.

Adding this to this thread, as it relates to this chart week. Also, there was some disagreement over the number of weeks in another thread.

Back in September 2005, when a young Barbadian female singer entered the UK chart for

the first time, no one could realistically foresee the longterm effect she was to have

on the UK charts. But now, with the 2 entries in this week's Top 75, Rihanna has now

passed The Shadows total of 772 weeks on the chart to move into third place all-time in

that category, trailing only Elvis Presley and Cliff Richard.

She has done this in just over 5 years (her debut entry was Pon De Replay on 3rd Sep 05),

in a total of just 384 weeks, meaning she has averaged just over 2 of the Top 75

throughout her entire chart career.

After what would these days be considered a slow start (she took 114 actual weeks

to reach 100 "chart weeks", far more than the likes of Flo-Rida, Timbaland, Mika

and Katy Perry, while the record is held by Glee Cast who achieved the feat in a

mere 24 weeks!) she picked up the pace from late 2007, and not since the chart of

5th Sep 2009 has she been absent from the Top 75 - the following week

Run This Town entered and she has been ever-present ever since.

On five occasions, she has had no less than 6 chart entries simultaneously:

5th Feb & 12th Feb 2011 - What's My Name?, Who's That Chick, Only Girl (In The World), S & M, Love The Way You Lie & Unfaithful

4th Jun & 11th Jun 2011 - California King Bed, S & M, Who's That Chick?, Love The Way You Lie, What's My Name?, Only Girl (In The World)

18th Jun 2011 - California King Bed, S & M, Love The Way You Lie, Who's That Chick?, Only Girl (In The World), Man Down

She has amassed this massive total of weeks on chart through only 41 singles, far less

than any one around her in terms of number of weeks

774 weeks as of w/e 5th Jan

Note 1 - I have not included All Of The Lights when calculating any of these statistics,

I do not believe she was actually credited on the chart for that record. If you wish

to include it, that would boost her total by a further 20 weeks.

Note 2 - The same applies for Just Stand Up, which charted with the artist as

Artists Stand Up To Cancer, but has been billed in places to the individual artists.

This would account for a further 3 weeks.

Note 3 - I know some of the above weren't technically "singles" but as they appeared on

the singles chart they can be considered as such in this context.

Is there anyway to check whether Conor Maynard's Animal charted top 200? And where Contrast charted too if possible?

Conor Maynard's Contrast re-entered the album chart at #107.
