The Romanian broadcaster has revealed that they will be selecting their entry for this year's contest using a national final just like previous years. I loved Mandinga and 'Zaleilah' last year, I hope they can come up with another great entry this time!

Romania will select their 2013 Eurovision representative via a national selection. The rules and regulations for the 2013 Romanian Eurovision national selection will be disclosed shortly by TVR, the Romanian national broadcaster.

 

Hence like in previous years TVR will call for artists to submit their entries for the Romanian Eurovision national selection. TVR will be revealing the complete agenda for Selectia Nationala 2013 in due course.

 

Romania debuted at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest with Dat Bitman and is yet to win the event. The country's best placing at the Eurovision Song Contest was in 2005 with Luminita Anghel and in 2010 with Paula Seling and Ovi, when Romania placed 3rd.

Highly disappointing selection from Romania this year. Only two favourites for me; Wake Me Up by Jul (who sadly can't really sing) and Emilia by Electric Fence.

 

 

I only really enjoyed Smth Transylvania...

 

...and this was supposedly a great selection, for which they included 8 more spots...

The Romanian broadcaster TVR has drawn the running order for the 12 finalists, who qualified from the two semi-finals last weekend. The final will take place on 9th March.

Cezar will represent Romania in Eurovision 2013 with 'It’s my life'! Electric Fence finished 2nd and Luminița Anghel finished 3rd.

The song could be great but that CLICHE of a dubstep breakdown is such a letdown. :(

Oh Romania, you normally deliver but the chorus is dreadful. :(

Romania run the risk of DNQing for the first time with this. If it does make it, it'll be a borderline qualifier at best, and only because it's Romania. If Bulgaria had sent it (remember Illusion in 2009?), it wouldn't have a hope in hell of qualifying!

Could definitely see a DNQ for Romania now. Other countries like Russia and Ukraine have come close to not qualifying in recent years...so I can't see Romania being untouchable when they send rubbish.

Awful. This is Bulgaria 2009 all over again.

 

Electric Fence, Luminita, Elena or Natalia would have been the better choices.

Here is the official video for 'It's My Life'! It is a good video, but I still don't like the song! :lol: I can see this just qualifying thanks to its good draw though and the fact it will be memorable!
