The gap is only 4K so if only he (Justin) would released it on Sunday... :( now he is free falling on I Tunes and it's a low sales week anyway... so the gap is not enough and he will fall much faster now... top 3 for sure I guess in the US and the UK. :(

50 Cent & Eminem are 83.08% combined now. I hope Justin Timberlake carries on decreasing to keep those two legends of rap at #1 officially.

Edit: I think the pop bars reverted just now to show 50 Cent & Eminem at 76.44 % combined

43. A$AP Rocky - Wild for the Night

Wow! 2013 continues to bring the surprises. You would never expect a song like this to be close to the UK top 40, even with Radio 1 play. Its success is probably largely down to Skrillex though.

It's strange that Skrillex isn't credited as a featured artist on iTunes, he is listed on the official tracklisting as a feature and I would have thought a '(feat. Skrillex)' tag would capture some attention.

Yeah, I hope they change it to add him, since I want more sales for it lol. The official crediting should be "A$AP Rocky ft. Skrillex & Birdy Nam Nam" I believe.

I think the fact the track is doing well even without shoving "feat. Skrillex" in people's faces is testament to how well it's being received - and how the album is doing relatively well too (#6 in the update). Personally, I'm not a big fan of Skrillex; but appreciate that he's happy to merely remain a producer on the track, unlike the credit-hogging David Guetta and the occassionally hogging Calvin Harris (though he didn't want a feat. for "Call My Name" or "Holiday").

I think Skrillex will probably get credited on the charts. I think it's just an iTunes thing, I see him credited literally everywhere else (i.e. on Radio 1's playlist, on Youtube, on the album tracklist, etc.).

To be fair, David Guetta has remained uncredited on some tracks before. Most notably I Gotta Feeling (which is his biggest hit ), and also Phresh Off the Runway by Rihanna, Rock That Body by the BEPs and Acapella by Kelis. Probably some others as well.

I really have no idea why they get credited on some songs and no others though. Especially in Rihanna's case, since he got credited on Right Now when he hardly made any of the beat (Nicky Romero did), but he doesn't get credited on Phresh Off the Runway where he actually did do most of it apparently.

Can't explain that one but maybe with BEP the fact that will.i.am is a producer himself (not that I'm sure whether he had a hand in the beats of those two, but I'd imagine so) had something to do with it?

Pleasing to see "Radioactive" up to #34, any particular reason?

According to the credits will.i.am produced part of Rock That Body, but none of I Gotta Feeling (which sounds right, I Gotta Feeling sounds just like Love is Gone, Gettin' Over You, Club Can't Handle Me, etc. whilst Rock That Body sounds a bit different to David Guetta's normal stuff, so probably had more influence from other producers (will.i.am)).

I think part of it might be to do with money behind the scenes. Like obviously all the producers involved get a certain % royalties from the song. Maybe sometimes a record label might say they'll pay a producer more royalties if he chooses not to get an official credit, or something like that.

In the case of I Gotta Feeling and Rock That Body, they were made before David properly blew up massively, and were released just as it was happening, so maybe they would've credited him if they knew we was going to get so huge like he did.

50 Cent ft Eminem & Adam Levine - My Life  #2

This is a good sign for this song and now it is 86.59% combined. If they are going to be the overall official #1 then they will probably have to do it similar to the way Sak Noel did it which means that they wont be #1 on the official download chart.

2. 50 Cent

3. will.i.am

41. 50 Cent

42. will.i.am

So 50 Cent is higher than will.i.am combined now.

I know Adam Levine is hardly a legend of rap, but shouldn't he get a namecheck too? :)

Could still be a three horse race then - I think Justin is likely to get there unless he's dropped behind by the end of the week but if he does it could be either of the others.

Finally listened to 'Suit & Tie' yesterday (I kept forgetting it existed :P) and while I can see why some people are underwhelmed and it is perhaps slightly disappointing after 6 years it's still another very strong song and probably a grower.

I was kind of annoyed when I heard Adam would be doing the chorus. I wish they'd used Nate Dogg or someone (yeah, I know that's impossible now, but he always did the choruses for their songs when I was younger and he was amazing). But after I heard the song it sounded okay with him imo, so I don't really mind now.

2. 50 Cent

3. will.i.am

41. 50 Cent

42. will.i.am

So 50 Cent is higher than will.i.am combined now.

Now second version of S&S is above second version of ML

both songs are around 84%

edit

1 Justin 1.0000

2 50 Cent 0.8632

3 Brit.i.am 0.8504

A very interesting chart battle indeed then - I imagine 50 Cent'll still be #1 in Friday's update - and then it's a matter of whether Justin Timberlake can pull it back, or if "Scream & Shout" can benefit from the weekend effect.

On the plus side, "Gangnam Style", is/has left the top 10 officially; and rather quickly (after its NYE boost). A 03-03-09-(12) chart run looks awfully strange as part of its overall run. Should be reaching the 1m mark soon enough though, as should "Titanium"; which is the biggest UK milestone it's going to get.

Anyone want to guess the #11 of the week? We had Bruno (#9), One Direction (#10) and Emeli Sande (#14) in the Wednesday update, with Biffy Clyro (#11), PSY (#12) and Adele (#13) in between. With "Clown" up to #9, I imagine it'll have overtaken all three by Sunday, and possibly steal 1D's spot if it can pull away a bit on iTunes.

I think the #11 will either be 'Clown' or 'Locked Out of Heaven'. I think One Direction are a certainty for a top 10 placing.

Emeli Sande - Clown  8 , i really hope this can get higher

Ke$ha - Die Young  12 , really surprised how well this is holding up and hopefully C'Mon can do well also
