Why would someone with such a big career just quit. Kylie is in a position where she can work when she wants to. Kylie was never an artists that just churned out album after album, there was always a long break so if she feels the need for time off i am sure there is no problem.

If that's the case, then surely she shouldn't go on a break?

Kylie has a solid enough fan base to enable her to take an extended break without it having a detrimental impact on her music career.

An extended break might also be a good thing - Aphrodite is one of my favourite Kylie albums but yet it underachieved in so many ways. Expectations were high but it sold a fair bit less than X which is pretty crap in comparison. Apart from the lead single, it struggled on the singles front to get the recognition it deserved and radio didnt support the later singles. Perhaps Kylie needs to take a bit more time with the next album and develop a more mature direction rather than sticking to pop.

I still want Kylie to do pop as i believe its what she does best and whats a large part of her fan base want fro her. I think she needs to work on her style of pop, a mature pop sound is what she needs, i also think she needs to work with some big names to just grab exposure to some new fans.
There was pleanty of decent songs on Aphrodite, the wrong singles were chosen.

Cupid Boy should have replaced Better Than Today, I think.

Cupid Boy coulda done well I think. Much as I dislike it, Too Much could have done well too, what with the Calvin Harris production.
Never been a fan of Better Than Today TBH. Cupid Boy would've been better, love that song. Put Your Hands Up should've done SOOOO much better. :(
After seeing it live (DEM projections) the video for Cupid Boy had potential to be sexual beyond words.
I loved and still love better than today, cupid boy however still should have been a single and as i have often said before get outta my way should never have been a single as i believe it killed the album as it just screamed love at first sight re-hash.

I'm guessing 'Wow' didn't?

'Aphrodite' should have been the third single, that could have had an EPIC X-Factor performance (which let's face it, the entire release for 'Better Than Today' was pretty much centred around that performance).

Better than today should've been the 2nd single not the 3rd, it's Get outta my way which was pointless... Cupid Boy and Aphrodite should've been released as 3rd and 4th singles...

Get outta my way was far more of a love at first sight re-hash than wow. Wow stood on its own and it did great as single and to my knowledge it is the only and release from an album single by Kylie that outsold the lead single.

Better than today although peaked low had decent enough sales for what its peak was but better than today had a very messy release, nothing tied together, had it been done so she would have had afar higher peak with it.

I think Can't beat the feeling is more like a re-hash of Love at first sight than Get outta my way.

NOOOOO. Better Than Today is just bland Kylie-by-numbers and wouldn't have fared much better than Get Outta My Way.

To me, releasing 'Better Than Today' just smacked of releasing a random album track because they couldn't think of anything else to use (even though they had 'Aphrodite' at their disposal).

I don't actually think another single would have done better than 'Get Outta My Way' though, by that point Kylie became the sort of act who only sells singles to a fanbase after the lead single. It's just the way the market shifted, at one point she could get 3 sizeable hits from an album, then 2, then 1.

What she needs to do is release more than one single before the album's release - had she done that with Get Outta My Way, it would have easily reached the Top 10.
Yes i think that could help her singles, release single one, then the 2nd and launch the album on the back of the second single. Interesting to see will the record company change tactics with her new album, surely they will have learned by some of the mistakes they made with ahrodite.
