WAU is top 40 in the NZ iTunes chart! If they have the capability to crack Aus and NZ without any promotion, why didnt they do this years ago with Higher or Ego or maybe even Up!?

I don't think they released anything before the On Your Radar era

And they didn't have the E! "hype" behind them :)

I think it's a radio stations chart though, but still amazing!

A really big french radio has been playing What About Us too.

Wait, I don't get it. They are the 69th most played track in the US right now then? Or is it, like, pop tracks airplay?

These updates are for CHR/Pop only. So it's the 69th most played song on pop stations. It's probably not even in the Top 500 in overall airplay.

I think the chart run is going to be 01-03-03 followed by a drop next week to around #06, I think it will manage 5 weeks top 10 which is still quite impressive in which it should hopefully be close to around 300,000 sales.

Also, Need U 100% looks like it will be unable to knock The Saturdays off the fastest selling single of the year as it's only shifted 39,000.

02. Justin Timberlake - Mirrors 53.1%

03. The Saturdays Feat Sean Paul - What About Us 52%

05. P!nk Feat Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason 48.2%

06. Nelly - Hey Porsche - 47.8%

07. Bastille - Pompeii 42.6%

08. Pitbull Feat Christina Aguleria - Feel This Moment 39.5%

Next week the only entry that's going climb above them is Will.i.am & Justin Bieber.

What annoys me is The Saturdays could still have been promoting What About Us in the Uk, even on shows like This Morning, to continue gaining attention. This has the potential to pass 450,000 and gain them their first brits nomination next year also. Hopefully once it seems there about to drop out of the top 10/40 they reduce the price. I wouldn't mind if they reduced the solo version to around 59p, it would most likely put it top 100.

I will never understand why they stop promoting after release week. I think the fact that it's lasted this long on airplay alone is really amazing and shows how much people actually like the song. I can only imagine what major promo would've done for this. But it's hard to be disappointed :)
And that's probably why they've stopped promoting it. Also, it's very easy to say they should be on programmes such as This Morning but they've been on recently and I doubt ITV would want them on again so soon seeing how much the programme covers.
Hopefully this singles success will get more promo slots and airplay for the album

It's the Saturdays. Even if there was no airplay and it was plummeting down the charts they still would've stopped promoting it.

#4 in the midweeks today. :)

#1 Duke Dumont

#2 PJ & Duncan

#3 Pink/Nate Ruess

#4 The Saturdays

#5 Bastille

With PJ & Duncan falling now and the girls hopefully staying stable, hopefully they can climb back up to #3 on Sunday? Unless Nelly continues to climb and/or something comes out of nowhere.

Nelly is likely to overtake them on iTunes within a couple of updates. And the second version is only selling something like 0.04 so he may overtake them with both versions combined by tomorrow evening. But he shouldn't be a threat to their top 4 position on Sunday.
