I am not a fan of the music style of most artists on the roc nation rota so i would be slightly worried about this.

I have to say that I agree with your concerns. I really don't like anything on roc nation so its slightly worrying. I seriously hope she doesnt try and change her style to a more urban genre as it wouldnt suit her at all and could potentially do more harm than good.

How good are RocNation at promoting? And does this mean she is no longer with Parlophone?

Parlophone Label Group has been sold to Warner for £487m in an all-cash transaction, Music Week can confirm.

The closing of the transaction is expected to occur in the summer subject to EU regulatory approvals and after a consultation procedure with employees.

Len Blavatnik, Chairman and founder of Access Industries - owner of Warner Music Group - said, “This is a very important milestone for Warner Music, reflecting our commitment to artist development by strengthening our worldwide roster, global footprint and executive talent.”

Stephen Cooper, CEO of Warner Music Group, said “Having the Parlophone Label Group become part of our family represents a unique opportunity for us to join with legendary record labels and artists that are highly complementary to our existing organization from a creative, geographic and strategic standpoint.

"We are committed to making this a great outcome for Parlophone’s artists and employees, who will find in WMG a similar spirit and culture that is dedicated to providing the most supportive and innovative home for recording artists. The continuation of the Parlophone legacy and brand are central to the future success of this combination, and we are proud to have them join us.”

The Parlophone Label Group is comprised of the Parlophone label and Chrysalis and Ensign labels as well as EMI’s recorded music operations in Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia and Sweden.

"Following this transaction, we will continue with our global reinvestment program that is rebuilding EMI and ensuring that the company is able to reach its full potential," stated Lucian Grainge, Chairman & CEO of UMG. “And we’re satisfied that our agreement with Warner Music will provide a home for PLG artists.”

Its artist roster and catalog of recordings include, among many others, Air, Coldplay, Daft Punk, Danger Mouse, David Guetta, Deep Purple, Duran Duran, Edith Piaf, Gorillaz, Iron Maiden, Itzhak Perlman, Jethro Tull, Kate Bush, Kylie Minogue, Maria Callas, Pet Shop Boys, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner and Tinie Tempah.

Warner Music Group has obtained commitments to finance this transaction through a new term loan facility provided through Credit Suisse, Barclays, UBS, Macquarie and Nomura.

Kylie is still signed to Parlophone (which is now part of Warner)

Kylie is being MANAGED by a team at RocNation - she is not signed to the label

Why is everyone jumping to the conclusion that she is going Urban just because she is now manage by Roc Nation? :/
Isn't she taking a break from music? How come she's said a new single's coming soon?

That was a load of rubbish - all sources seem to just presume that because she had no management. She's been recording her next studio album which I imagine is almost done, so she wasn't just going to abandon that!

Actually Kylie is signed to Warner Music in Australia, hopefully that would mean better promotion for her in Australia!

Kylie Minogue signs to Roc Nation: What does it mean?

Friday Feb 8 2013

By Robert Copsey

Despite hinting at a break from music following last year's 12-month celebration of a quarter of a century in the biz, Kylie Minogue has seemingly played us all for fools and is gearing up to release a new album this year. Hooray!

Even more surprising is the announcement that she's signed a new deal with Roc Nation. We're not entirely sure what that means, but we're assuming that Jay-Z is in some part her new boss. No, we can't quite get our heads around that either.

But what could this all mean for Kylie's 12th album and, crucially, Kylie herself? We've listed a few things we'd like to see happen during her next campaign.

A proper US album release

It remains baffling to this day that Kylie's only successful album in the States is 2001's Fever. She's openly admitted in the past that Americans have struggled to warm to her en masse compared with the rest of the world, but now that all manner of acts are finding success in the US, it's high time she re-established herself out there.

A completely bonkers collaboration

Teaming up with another artist can, if done right, prove extremely beneficial. She'd need to be careful to avoid looking like she's desperately clinging on to her youth, but a quick glance over Roc Nation's books - Shakira, MIA Timbaland, Santigold, CALVIN HARRIS - throws up some potentially amazing hook-ups. Mind you, they also look after The Ting Tings.

R&B Kylie

Don't get us wrong, we'll always be here for dance Kylie, but her limited delving into (sort of) R&B hasn't been disastrous and we wouldn't be opposed to it in the future. And by R&B, we mean 'Put Yourself In My Place', 'Word Is Out' and, of course, 'Red Blooded Woman'.

A guest rap from the boss

We're still not sure if this is a good idea or not, but the idea of Jay-Z rearing his head to say a few words on a Kylie song, where he loosely rhymes "Minogue" with "explode", makes us smile in a good way.

A flamboyant and completely over-the-top world tour.

Thankfully, Kylie is already pretty experienced when it comes to these.

Of course, this Roc Nation business could mean very little and she'd just continue as she is, which seems to be going pretty well for her as well. But whatever she's up to, we're guessing by the looks of her official website and this news that we'll all be hearing something sooner rather than later.

NO NO NO more trying to break America, focus on the places she actually has/had successes. NO NO NO collabs with Jay Z, he's shit.

as much as i adore Kylie but i don't think.she will be recognized internationally if she's not known in the US, like it or not, the US rules international media, therefore success in the US means her international fanbase will triple.... she NEEDS to make it big in the US otherwise she's doomed... i don't know if she will.be accepted aa a 44 year old lady and get airplay in ageist America...

Ahhh... alright I would agree to it...

No No No, as in Destiny's Child - No No No? Hopefully a "(2013 Remix feat. Jay Z & Kylie Minogue)"

She has tried and failed so many tmes, there is no poitn flogging a dead horse. It is a waste of time and money. She is already well eshtablished in the rest of the world without

US success.

America isn't the only place that's ageist when it comes to airplay, Radio 1 are now refusing to playlist her, Robbie Williams and Madonna. Robbie is 38 :drama:

I'll see what this throws up, could be exciting though! I think her chance to make it in the US has been and gone, it's not gonna happen now but she's successful in other markets so it's fine.

I love how that article on the first page randomly highlighted 'Come Into My World' as one of her hits.
