February 7, 201312 yr Just to keep track of the rates and maybe discussion about which ones would be most successful/contributed to. After the Pulp one - currently being undertaken by Jester I will attempt a Manics one. I've also seen Oasis and The Cure being mentioned. Even though no one has mentioned these, I'm guessing Blur and Radiohead rates have potential also. Personally, I'd love a Depeche Mode, New Order and Kate Bust ones. :kink: Anyway I would participate in all of those though, and I might do Pulp, but I don't know The Cure well enugh, and Oasis are the second worst band of all time behind Dire Straits* (May involve SLIGHT hyperbole)
February 7, 201312 yr Author It may be a chance to discover older music - for some of the less geriatric members.
February 8, 201312 yr They are all good suggestions. Maybe at some point we could pit the top two or three from each rate against each other in some way. Perhaps a knock-out contest of some sort.
February 8, 201312 yr I'm willing to do an Oasis one, I'll do Jester's singles and albums format with the better known b-sides as well. Maybe all the album tracks if anyone's feeling indulgent.
February 8, 201312 yr I'll take part in any of the 'classic indie' ones. I would do a Carter USM one, but I doubt anybody else would be interested.
February 8, 201312 yr I'd love to take part in as many as possible but I'd have to listen to most of the songs before voting becomes worthwhile. Even in the current Pulp one, I have and love their two classic albums but there's still too many I don't recognise at all.
February 8, 201312 yr I'm probably gonna get laughed out of town here, but I'd be happy to run a Coldplay rate at some point. And I will take part in all those I know enough material by like Oasis, MSP etc.
February 8, 201312 yr Well up for any of The Cure / Kate Bush / New Order / Depeche Mode / Björk / Radiohead / Bowie / Blur.
February 8, 201312 yr I'm probably gonna get laughed out of town here, but I'd be happy to run a Coldplay rate at some point. And I will take part in all those I know enough material by like Oasis, MSP etc. Please do this! Coldplay are my favourite band ever and I would enjoy doing a rate of their songs. Is it alright if I do an Oasis rate after I finish the S Club 7 rate and the Pulp rate is finished? :D
February 8, 201312 yr Good grief, a Bowie rate! Now that would be a mammoth undertaking compared to the others. Although I could probably do it without listening to everything first. Probably a few tracks off Earthling would need another listen though.
February 8, 201312 yr The sad thing is that it would probably get the least amount of voters. I know! But if there was an artist who "changed my life" then Bowie was him. From the age of 13 I was an absolute Bowie obsessive.
February 9, 201312 yr I'll take part in any of the 'classic indie' ones. I would do a Carter USM one, but I doubt anybody else would be interested. You'd get at least two voters :cheer: How about a Carter USM b-side cover versions rate?
February 10, 201312 yr Please do this! Coldplay are my favourite band ever and I would enjoy doing a rate of their songs. Is it alright if I do an Oasis rate after I finish the S Club 7 rate and the Pulp rate is finished? :D I'll happily take it, I did a rough draft the other night and you've got another one to do.
