Im not sure i just saw a dearth of releases and know radio 1 will support these 2 acts. Sometime they dont need a release date to playlist some of their biggest acts of the moment they just add them a couple of weeks after the old singles taken off.

The new Nelly track might be added to the blist as well?! And the guy whos just entered the top 40 update whos on the new microsoft ad - Blake someone?
In a couple weeks we'll hopefully have Demi Lovato - Heart Attack added! Until then, I'm not bothered about anything! (Unless they wanna add Nicki Minaj - High School).

I think Amelia is going to be snubbed with 'Party Over'.

Radio 1 only got on board with her once YBMJ hit #1 in the midweek update and they only supported SU due to the success of YBMJ. With SU failing to go top 10, and PO sounding even worse, I can't see R1 giving her another chance.

More indie songs that could be added to radio 1 - theyre on 6 music and the radio playlist usually adds a few from 6 music and some from radio 1Xtra to make up the indie adds on the list

Phoenix - Entertainment

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Sacrilege

James Blake - Reterograde (albums not out until 8/4 so could be put in the upfront list beforehand)

Cold War Kids - Miricle Mile

the Flaming Lip - Sun blows up today (maybe too old for radio 1 now lol)

Frank Turner - Recovery

The Villagers - The Bell

What's with so many rappers doing re-releases lately - 'Mercy', 'Swimming Pools (Drank)' and now 'Goldie'! Re-releasing has worked reasonably well for the former two so would love to see 'Goldie' get a better peak now (wouldn't be too difficult, it did only get to #98 originally). Still my favourite of his singles. I guess this means 'I Come Apart' won't be a single then - I know it's only on the deluxe edition of 'LONG.LIVE.A$AP' but Florence alone would surely guarantee it to be another minor hit for him.

Never got the fuss with Goldie. It just blends into the background compared to his other more LOUD/extravagant songs, but hope it can re-peak nonetheless.

Would love Fashion Killa to get a release, but highly doubt it will tbh

Moving up to A-list: Alt-J, Biffy Clyro, Duke Dumont, Everything Everything, possibly The XX. I have a feeling Pink will only peak at B-list despite the success of the single.

Moving up to B-list: Ben Howard, Haim, Nina Nesbitt, Tom Odell, possibly Bieber.

I think Avicii, Fall Out Boy, K Koke, The Script, Bridgit Mendler & Drake will be dropped.

My predictions were way off this week  although I did predict the dropouts correctly (apart from FOB!)

Really surprised (and happy) that Pink is on the A-list :D

Predictions for this afternoon's new playlist?

I'm going for:

A$AP Rocky – Goldie

Calvin Harris feat Ellie Goulding – I Need Your Love

Devlin feat Etta Bond – Love Cards

Imagine Dragons – It's Time

Rihanna – Pour It Up

Can't see any more obvious ones that they could add really. Seems a bit quiet for releases over the next few weeks doesn't it?

And as for movers, I think:

Up to A-list: Alt-J, Ben Howard, Biffy Clyro, Kodaline, Taylor Swift.

Up to B-list: Iggy Azalea, James Blake, Mallory Knox, Rudimental, Tom Odell.

Off: Bastille, Ellie Goulding, Fall Out Boy, Jake Bugg, Baauer, Daughter, One Direction, The xx.

Bit of a boring playlist ATM.

These will all have a chance too:

AlunaGeorge - Attracting Flies

Clean Bandit - Mozart's House (hopefully)

Demi Lovato - Heart Attack

Lethal Bizzle (ft. Wiley) - They Got It Wrong

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (ft. Ray Dalton) - Can't Hold Us

Nicky Romero & Nervo - Like Home

Pitbull (ft. Christina Aguilera) - Feel This Moment

If they do playlist that Pitbull/Christina Aguilera monstrosity, it'll be the first thing that's been playlisted with her name on it since 'Candyman' in 2007. They've had a massive hate campaign against her since then.

Oh yeah, forgot about AlunaGeorge and Clean Bandit, I think those two are definite possibilities. I'd be surprised if they playlisted Demi Lovato or Pitbull/Xtina. I think it might be too soon for Macklemore, when's it out?

I know yet I have no idea why. :(

Fair enough, 'Not Myself Tonight' and 'Your Body' reeked of desperation to be "in" and current and 'You Lost Me' wasn't current at all. But 'Moves Like Jagger' should've been playlisted once it blew up - clearly she was the factor preventing it from being playlisted since R1 are all over Maroon 5 atm.

Poor Xtina. She used to be at the top of the game. :(

I think Demi will get playlisted, just not yet because it's out on 29th April.

This is gonna be her first proper UK smash I reckon. Mainly thanks to the brilliant Nikki Williams who wrote it and I hope is in for a massive year.

Let's be fair, Maroon 5 were also as good as over before 'Moves Like Jagger' revived them and Radio 1 had long left them behind too. I think because it was mainly Maroon 5's song with effectively a few random lines with Christina thrown in is why her career didn't benefit from it.

Very true but I think Christina helped the song become a success as much as Maroon 5 did. The gimmick of having two The Voice coaches duetting together was what made it huge in America in the first place (as well as being catchy obviously but even then, just that isn't going to guarantee chart success) and the US success obviously helped it out over here and internationally.

This would be the right time for Christina to bring it all back with a whooping ballad. :D

Considering they have a massive hate campaign against Pitbull as well (with the sole exception of 'Don't Stop The Party' they've only ever played his songs after they become big and they used to edit out any guest verses he did) I would be very surprised if 'Feel This Moment' gets playlisted. It'll be a hit regardless. Better song than 'Don't Stop The Party' by Xtina does her very best to ruin it.

Playlist predictions for later today?

I'm going for:

Rihanna - Pour It Up (still think it's an awful single choice though)

Vampire Weekend - Diane Young (it's Zane Lowe's record of the week)

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us

Little Mix feat. Missy Elliott - How Ya Doin'

Rascals feat. Professor Green - Fire Blaze

Devlin feat. Etta Bond - Love Cards

Imagine Dragons - It's Time (I still think it's not too late for them to playlist this)

AlunaGeorge - Attracting Flies (I know it's late but I've still got a feeling they'll add it)

PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready To Rhumble (...OK I'm joking but how good would it be to hear it played on R1 )

Bastille, Bruno Mars, Fall Out Boy & The Vaccines will probably go.

Up to A-list: Ben Howard, Calvin Harris, Rudimental, Tom Odell.

Up to B-list: pretty much everything that was added to the C-list last week!
