Posted February 22, 201312 yr Has madonna started work on a new album yet? Its been nearly a year since MDNA and given its lack of success, I just wondered whether a follow up was in the pipeworks.

February 22, 201312 yr Has madonna started work on a new album yet? Its been nearly a year since MDNA and given its lack of success, I just wondered whether a follow up was in the pipeworks. I'd say MDNA's poor chart performance would suggest it will be quite a few years until her next album, rather than be sooner.
February 22, 201312 yr I HATE to say this but Madonna and her team decided how MDNA was going to be promoted. Ok, she was never gunna going to get her greatest sales ever but if she promoted it differently to how they actually did I think it would of been a lot different story. Take, the UK for example the radio stations only really played Give Me All Your Luvin' on the day it was released even radio 1. Ok apart from radio 2 playing Masterpiece regularly did anyone else hear Girl Gone Wild or Turn Up The Radio on the radio ?. Ok, maybe if she did some UK promotion the radio stations and tv would have shown more interest. Ok, the only promotion for the UK was that Dan Cotton interview shown on daybreak that did nothing to promote MDNA. The rest of the world pretty much followed suit. As for future releases I think MDNA has set the route of how new material will be promoted and the straight to tour route as she and live nation can make way more money that way than selling albums.

February 23, 201312 yr Author I've really gone off Madonna since she released the hard candy album and I've been a fan right throughout her career. I think something has gone seriously wrong with her last two releases. For me she is trying to work with the latest cool producers and other artists like Minaj to appeal to the current trend of music, which is at the expense of alientating her massive fan base. Instead. she should be releasing music which is more in sync with a mature artist who is continually trying to develop. It's like Madonna doesnt know who she is as an artist anymore. She used to be ahead of everyone else by releasing the latest new sound but now she appears to be jumping on the band wagon. Her style is also a mess and doesnt fit with her age.

(* who didn't already think it) Very true - awful lead single. Working with Minaj didnt pay off. Minaj is a rap artist and doesnt fit with Madonna's style or calibre of music.
