50 Cent feat. Eminem & Adam Levine My Life

Where's 50 Cent gone again?

He's released some more music since My Life! My Life just got Radio 1 playlisting because of Eminem and Adam Levine probably, I don't think they'd playlist 50 Cent by himself. :(

Some I thought of:

Flower - Sweet Female Attitude

U Know What's Up - Donnel Jones feat. Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes

Flip Reverse - Blazin' Squad

The first 2 songs are definatly not non number twos. Childhood classics of mine

The cockney chavs in my secondary school use to sing Flip Reverse , but i agree it probably is a non number two.

The instrumental makes me laugh. "qwa q q qwa qwa q q qwa qwa qwa"

'Flowers' even re-entered the charts not long ago, I hear it all the time still and everybody knows it. It's a classic.

I agree.

Some I feel are both forgotten and horrendous at the same time.

Cliff Richard - 21st Century Christmas

U2 and Greenday - The Saints Are Coming

U2 - City of Blinding Lights

Holly Valance - Down Boy

Gordon Haskall - How Wonderful You Are

Jeff Buckley is perhaps one of the most FAMOUS songs that peaked at no.2.

Agree. However, and I could be wrong, chartwise it wasn't all that enduring, was it

I love How Wonderful You Are and I always prefered Down Boy (and State Of Mind) to Kiss Kiss.

Holly Valance - Down Boy

Played that earlier today! She has some absolute solid gold pop songs.

'Flowers' is a modern classic, and most people I know still remember it fondly! The kind of song that would make people go nuts at a party.

Chartwise, it "technically" would be, but I would define a 'non-number 2' as a song that didn't sell in great numbers and is almost totally forgotten these days (same also for the number 1). I know that's subjective, but Hallelujah is probably one of the most recognisable songs of all time worldwide and Buckley's version, in particular, is a classic. It only fell very quick because of the circumstances behind it at the time (post Christmas, X Factor etc.), so I definitely wouldn't call it a non number 2.

The suggestion of My Life earlier is spot on, that is definitely what this thread is about (and its not even been out a year has it?)

But then that brings us back to the question of what is more important: sales or cultural impact?

Is that Flowrs song the one that goes, I'll bring you flow-aaars i the pyouring raayyyn? As if it is I hear it a lot.

You Got the Dirtee Love - Florence Welch/Dizzee Rascal (Have no idea how this version goes!)
Basically the chorus of You Got The Love with the verses of Dirtee Cash by Dizzee...not too difficult if you know both songs!

It had 2 weeks at #2 and 5 weeks top 10 but you may be right, if it's truly forgotten :nocheer:

Yes it is. And it deserves to be remembered!

Flowers is a tuuuune! How anyone can consider it "forgotten" or a non-Number 2 is ridiculous!

This.

Such a shame if Florence IS forgotten with that song as it was amazing, shame the Brits didn't boost it allt he way to #1, might be more remembered now! At least her cover is remembered. Does anyone know the year this happened?

Also, if it's Lazy, that is not a non no.2 at all.

Yes. :D 2010

In a year with so many classics that hit #2 (My Name Is, Better Off Alone, Turn Around, Right Here Right Now, Beautiful Stranger, Wild Wild West, S Club Party, If I Could Turn Back The Hands Of Time, Re-Rewind) this one seems to be off-place, doesn't it?

I adore The Launch  It's not exactly well remembered but I did hear it on the soundbed to some Channel 5 TV show the other day.
