Young and talented brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence (aka Disclosure) have been on the ascendency for some time now, and although previous single "Latch", a collaboration with singer-songwriter Sam Smith, narrowly missed out on the number 1 spot in November 2012 - their new single which features AlunaGeorge "White Noise" jumps 4-1 and becomes the 297th Number 1 (the fourth number 1 of 2013). It means we should statistically hit the 300th number 1 in April - and for completeness the 200th number 1 was Elbow's "One Day Like This" (which topped the chart in June 2008) Hot on their heels and up 7 places to No. 3 is James Blake, who last had a #1 single in early 2011 with the brilliant "The Wilhelm Scream", a re-worked cover of his fathers song "Where To Turn". "Retrograde" was debuted on the 7th February, quickly debuted at No.34 and then leapt in spectacular fashion into the Top 10, it precedes his 2nd studio album Overgrown which is due out in April.

This weeks Top 10 is notable for the fact that Autre Ne Veut now has 2 singles in the Top 10, a feat only achieved 3 times so far this decade (in 2010 by The National, and in 2012 by Grimes); previous hit "Counting" holds steady at No. 6 on its fourteenth week, and brand new single "Play By Play" rises 14-9, Arthur Ashin's second studio album Anxiety is due next week.

Manchester's I Am Kloot jump into the Top 10, up 4 places to No. 7 with "These Days Are Mine" - the second single from their 6th studio album Let It All In, and you'd be forgiven for thinking there was a bit of a Manchester revival going on with Jagwar Ma (this weeks highest climber) up from 38-18 with debut hit "The Throw" which harks back to the Stones and the early 1990s Madchester scene - however they are in fact Jono Ma and Gabriel Winterfield, a duo from Sydney, Australia. This one should be easily Top 10 next week.

There are six new entries to the chart, the highest goes in at No. 27 for The Irrepressibles and their absolutely beautiful new single "Two Men In Love", which shows off the fine vocal talents of Jamie McDermott. Returns to the chart are granted for Woodkid (who had a #1 in July 2012 with "Run Boy Run"), Public Service Broadcasting (who hit #1 last December with "Everest") and Daughter (who went Top 5 with "Smother" last Autumn) and Phoenix (who haven't been in the chart since 2009). Finally another chart debut for hotly tipped Palma Violets whose "Step Up For The Cool Cats" debuts at 47.
