Thanks for the answer to the CR question, Syd.

I also looked for pictures from the gig. They must have gone home immediately afterwards as Ayda posted a picture watching TV yesterday in London.

Maybe they all had to give their mobiles away so that this should stay secret?

Who may celebrate what in Abu Dhabi this style? A Russian? An Arab? For sure someone with money as the stage seemed to be huge for a private gig.

I wonder why he does the stress with tours. If he only would do music and private gigs for a million plus each he would be good :-) (joking)

I have relatives living in Dubai , it's all money, money, money . I went there a number of years ago & even their shopping centres are like palaces , some with hotels attached

Someone's Citroen in need of a wash

Sometimes I wish he would do a beautiful video like Eternity. Nice surrounding, beautiful people, simply good mood
The Eternity video was fab Elisabeth, I was not expecting a video for the third single if I'm honest

Does this lyric apply here , has he been knocking at the door & nobody's home

A quiet night alone

If nothing is wrong

How come you're not home

A quiet night alone

If nothing is wrong

How come you're not home

...and washed your citroen

yes - great lyric :P

I guess the Citroen is not in the actual video :P

He seems to have a fair bit of promo lined up for the third single if not a video. He's doing the San Remo thing in Italy in February and it looks like he's doing a show in Spain around the same time. Plus there's the Brits and Ant and Dec coming up shortly. He's already said he did the "I'm a celebrity get out of my ear" bit for the show.

I just wonder if he needs a bit of down time before the tour starts in June.

If I have understood some bits others refer to from the upfront chat the next is a Christmas album? I guess that will be huge.

A Christmas album , that would be great .

I agree about the rest time but this tour is not as intensive as some of the others he has done in the past or is it

Well I get the impression it's not all announced yet is it? Australia still to go plus did we find out if South America is included?

I wouldn't want a Christmas album. I'd much rather listen to his original material than an album of covers. I want Robbie's lyrics, not someone else's.

Oh !! an album of covers, did he say that , I thought it was going to be original material

I guess it will be a mixture. I agree, Laura but...he is at a point of his career where he is not the big thing anymore. His albums may reach number one with an enormous pr activity still, but he has to work his butt off which leaves him in the mood he seems to have now. On the other hand he has a lifestyle to feed. A Christmas album will sell like the original swing album, I guess but only when it is a mix woth old songs either. People want to sing along. It is teh same like the songs fans and random audience waant to hear on tour. It is a difficult Robbie phase in the moment especially for someone driven by competititive thoughts and used to success. I wonder how he feels that TT is invited by JC to car pool karaoke. Fine for them, but I am a bit sad for Robbie as at least the media make believe he wanted it so badly

I would have thought that the Christmas album might have been of songs that he has that would never appear on a studio album as such , something along the lines on the UTR albums . I have had enough of the Swing thing, I liked the first one, the second one was ok. I guess in between tours he looks for something to fill the gaps & keep the fans interested

I cannot guess the reason he was not asked to do the Carpool Karoke but then again only Robbie would admit to same which is sometimes his downfall & makes him look a bit desperate :hithead:

Well if he does one he does one but it's not my thing.

Anyway he hasn't got to think about a new album for a few years yet because I'm guessing his next album will be with TT.

I saw they were with James Corden. I wondered if that was to promote the Las Vegas Residency? Isn't that this year? Good promo for them.

Yes - only Robbie would admit to not being famous enough. God bless him.

He's been saying a lot in chat this week his back is buggered again and he's on steroid injections. He doesn't need that re-surfacing for the tour.

I don't think TT will need a promo for the residency if it will happen. It will be mostly brits and europeans who will be there. But it is a nice push as Carpool karaoke is famous all over the world now and not only watched by Americans like maybe the rest of the show.

I think that the career moves of TT are far more determined and structured than Rob's. Gary said in an interview that he workd 10 years for something and is successful and Rob simply drops in and gets the crowd.

But that is not enough anymore with 42. There are more flaws, the fans are less responsice and more critical.

He did a lot of promo this time around but many choices were doubtful also for teh interviews. One carpool would have outweighed many of them.

I have also the feeling that the more he feels under pressure the more pain he has.

I am hardly an expert of depression, but I cannot believe that you cannot medicate it. Plus, as a warrior in many things myself, I understand him in this. Nevertheless, it is not that he has to worry like average Joe Public for his well leving. Sometimes Rob is a real miracle for me. I hope he will join TT and then do a lowkey album like UTR. Then he is at his best

I think Robbie's promo is very structured but I don't think he's interested in knowing what the plans are. I think that over whelms him. He just likes to be told where he's got to be next and off he goes and does it. I think Gary loves the planning bit. They're just different. :)

I think as in all things RW - he is full of contradictions. Yes short term he is really relaxed as part of a group when the pressure is off but after he's done that he's looking for new stuff to do to avoid getting bored. I think (guessing) he's never truly content in what he does and what he achieves. He's always looking at the next thing. That's what keeps him moving forward. Whether that's a healthy attitude to have, I've no idea but I think it's part of why he's still selling music after 27 years. B-) He would never be happy just standing still. It's a bit of a driving force for him.
