Never heard of B&M before, although in the deep south-west where I am, they aren't going to be around.

However, where I am, you can easily get a can of Coke for 60-70p.

I've been looking at London prices recently. Absolute rip-off. And that's just the attractions. If the prices quoted in this thread are accurate, I'll be damned if I ever live or even go there.

Similar to Geneva, really. Everything was so expensive there. I believe I remember 8 Swiss Francs (or thereabouts) for a Big-Mac. And nothing under 1.80 francs.

60-70p is the norm here, but B&M sells genuine cans for around 30p and same sized clones of Coke for as little as 10-15p :P

The most astonishing is house prices. Unfortunately, I'm fairly close to Stoke where you'd pay 50-80k for a terrace, 80-120k 1930s semi, and up to 200k for a reasonably nice 3 bedroomed detached house.

This says that in London you'd pay on average 800k for a detached house and almost half a million for a terrace :S I've seen huge country houses and farms go for a fair bit less than that, it's insane!

Gotta love the property markets.

Down here, in Cornwall, the notorious centre of 2nd homes, a big farmhouse or something of the like would go for around 350k (not that that sort would necessarily be 2nd homes, but I know that figure). In an average area of course. 800k is just insane.

And looking on that site, I'm right. 307k for a detached. Not bad.

But the wages usually have a role in the cost of goods (and taxes). I find Australia more expensive than the UK, but the wages are twice as high so no one complains.
