Okay so I've finally got round to hearing this, it gets better as it goes along - I love all of the last 7 songs. My highlights would be 'Grand Piano', 'Get On Your Knees' and 'The Night Is Still Young' (which gives me vibes of Young Forever actually!). I actually think the Beyonce track is one of the weakest personally, but it seems like she's gonna release it :(

Grand Piano though, UH WOW. Might be getting tickets to see her tomorrow, if she does that live, I think I may be reduced to tears.

Now on course for 201k including streams, only 2k behind #2. Hopefully she manages to clinch that #2 peak.

That's not including streams it seems! :o Debuting at #2 with 251k (streams included) on the billboard 200!

I've listened to this album a few times and I'm really enjoying it! Might have to purchase this, 1989 and Queen of The Clouds once they are on discount :kink:

(Or when I get money again, depends on which comes first)

So it's pretty much on par with Roman Reloaded. I think it could reach the same sales as it (provided she releases the correct singles) but Gold wouldn't be a disaster! She should ideally be releasing Get On Your knees next tbh.

I believe she's releasing Feeling Myself as the next single. She said so in an interview last week as radio seems to be playing it already in the US and it got quite high on iTunes over there but Nicki has been known for changing her mind quite a lot when it comes to singles so that might change .

Regardless of how this era has been handled (badly). This album is great. Not sure if it's better than her debut yet, but the fact im even considering that means it's a 10/10, since "Pink Friday" is in my top ten favorite albums of all time.

Very honest, touching and it makes you think, along with lightened moments of careless pop inspired tracks. This is what rap is supposed to be. Also, her voice <3

She needs to release "Get On Your Knees" next. It will receive support on both urban and pop, whereas "Feeling Myself" will probably just be an urban hit.

So finally heard the standard album in full and these are my thoughts:

I really enjoy half the album, my top 8:

1. Anaconda

2. Grand Piano - I love exposed Nicki like this, it's when she's at her best (bar the fun tracks like Starships/Anaconda but that's the pop hoe in me)

3. Trini Dem Girls - lmao I absolutely cannot refuse this

4. Pills N Potions

5. The Night Is Still Young - I agree with Rob, I get Young Forever vibes here too!

6. Bed of Lies

7. Want Some More

8. Get On Your Knees

The first three tracks are pleasant enough, Favorite/Buy a Heart mostly passed me by, Four Door Aventador was a bit boring, and Feeling Myself is a bit of a mess LOL. Only is absolutely terrible and almost tempted to delete it from my iPod entirely but I don't like albums with one track missing :kink:

Better than I thought on the whole though and it got better as it went along basically. Pink Friday > The Pinkprint > Roman Reloaded (although the second half of the latter alone is my fave if we take the first half away  as a whole it's kinda messy and disjointed though)

SO into this album right now, seems like it'll have more legs than Roman Reloaded (which I admittedly loved at first but didn't listen to after the first 2/3 weeks haha).
"The Night Is Still Young" is #53 on the Spotify chart! :o I bet they push this as the next single.
The Night Is Still Young is so uninspired. One of my least favourites so I really hope it's not a single :(

Last era they released Starships and Pound The Alarm back-to-back, so I wouldn't put it past her UK record label when it comes to uninspired single choices.

Starships and Pound The Alarm were probably the most obvious single choices on that album though. There is so many better single choices on this album than The Night Is Young IMO.

The Night Is Still Young would be a fabulous single IMO, way better than something like Feeling Myself would be! I'd love Grand Piano to get a release, I'm not sure how well it would do but she won't get Radio 1 support over here regardless so it doesn't really matter, I'd love a video for it

Oh and the deluxe tracks on here are mostly awful.

Grand Piano is part of the Pinkprint Movie, so I doubt it will get another video.

I don't think Radio 1 are as dead set against her as others do, there's just not really been any single this era that had a reason for them to play it. Snubbing 'Pills N Potions' was a bit iffy but radio in the US kinda ignored it too, as did radio across the world, so it's acceptable. 'Anaconda' too received horrendous airplay for how big it was but that was because it was a novelty hit/really not suitable for radio. 'Only' is urban-only and that Skylar Grey song is similar to PNP.

She just needs the right song and an actually competent release strategy.

The Night Is Still Young is a BOP.

I needs to be the single after next, at least for pop radio. Could easily be a starships sized smash.
