I get so frustrated with fans. What's next? Why didn't she this? If only she changed that one verse. What a flop? She's flopping. Seriously? One verse prevented you from enjoying the song? Is your love for an artist based on how well they sell on the charts? Are you really that trivial when it comes to judging an artist? Sales are only a bonus, at the end of the day it's the music and visual what really counts

It's time to bang the gong guys! Tell the critics they don't know what they're talking about. Gaga is our best friend, and critics who make needless statements are haters. Do you tell the people who get their feelings hurt to follow advice? To change how they act because of it?

Well tbh, it's more than logical for a stan to want success for their faves as that is what gives them exposure, money for recording, keeping a record deal.

This whole, music not the bling, is nonsense as at the end of the day, yes some may be in it for the music, but they also need success of some sort to be able to sustain their career and make a living out of it

It is when an artists starts "flopping" fans all over sudden decide it's not about success, but about cultural impact (which ARTPOP, and probably The Pinkprint, did not provide, given it was a cheap try at recreating the success of The Fame (Monster))

oh of course it will be the female rappers' bible. obviously. it's not even out but it SO will be.

for all we know the rest of the record is an anaconda tribute twerkfest. bitch gotta make some DOLLA

The record label forced her to create Anaconda to get a top 10 hit. She didn't want to do it. She's said there's no other songs like it on the album.

If only she had the freedom to release what she wanted! :(

But the difference is this is Gaga and Minaj we are talking about who are successful and known worldwide, not a UK based act like The Saturdays or Pixie Lott who can just be dropped at any moment. What Gaga sells when she "flops (correct term: underperforms)" are what most artists sell when they peak! Artists that are in the leagues of Gaga and Minaj don't have to worry about being dropped/not making a living - they can have as many underperforming albums as they like and they'll still sell out arenas and make lots and lots of money - so that logic really does not apply to them - hence why I say it's annoying that their fans base their lives and opinions of them around how well their icon's album charts and sells

I see you and I agree for the most part. GaGa and Nicki will probably continue to succesfully tour.

But please tell me why did Nicki and GaGa release cheap attempts at hits then if they don't need them? ARTPOP was a throwback at TFM and Anaconda is just...

As I've said above, the label forced Nicki to create/release Anaconda because they wanted her to have a top 10 hit from this album. ARTPOP isn't a cheap attempt? It's probably Gaga's most experimental album yet.

Isn't "the label forcing her" proving my exact point tho?

The label wants hits from Nicki

And no, ARTPOP was a poor man's TFM (tho the poor part is subjective). Songs like Do What You Want, Applause and GUY are NOT experimental and are pop songs like any other. They're good (well GUY is decent) but nothing experimental or out of the box, as is most of the album itself (if not the whole), like you, her and her fans are claiming

But let us hope Nicki stronf with this album, altho the campaign is a mess right now

Each to their own I guess, but ARTPOP was Gaga's most experimental and personal album - she's said this many times and was heavily involved on its actual production. I don't get where the claims of recreating TFM are coming from - if anything that's what she might be planning to do next based on her recent tattoo, talk of TFM etc. But that was really far from the objective of ARTPOP

I don't see how songs like 'Jewels 'n Drugs' and 'Do What U Want' resemble a TFM recreation at all and aren't experimental for Gaga. 'Venus' is the polarizing song of her career, then you have quirky minimal songs like the title track. ARTPOP really is varied and experimental, yes you have your candyfloss pop like Applause and Gypsy and so on - but the songs on the album are as a whole very risky for Gaga both lyrically and sonically imo

Sorry to go O/T but Gaga did fire her management when they got greedy, and if Nicki Minaj is in a similar space she can easily do the same, I personally feel artists like them that have already broken into the mainstream, broken sales and chart records, made their labels rich - have the choice to do what they want with the rest of their career and build their own legacy. In the same vain as the like of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Kylie etc

Nicki's obviously lying about 15th December and is going to Beyonce us on 8th December (her birthday). #wishfulthinking

Although if we don't even get a tracklisting, iTunes pre-order and song previews by next Monday...

Even with all the times she's pushed it back so far, she won't push back the one time it's genuinely needed :drama:

AAH! Cannot WAIT to hear the Beyoncé and Ariana collabs, especially the former! I'm so glad they're finally doing a proper collaboration together!

She's posted on Twitter the following information:

"Only" video is coming this week

The Pinkprint iTunes pre-order will be released at the end of the week

"Grand Piano" is the most emotional song on the album

She'll be performing "Bed of Lies", "Only" and a new song on Saturday Night Live this week.
