Mirrors is dark red and The Sats have been closing the gap on #9 all day.

Fingers crossed JT starts to drop off now before Calvin takes over.

Why though? It's not as if tracks sell a lot in the range they're currently sitting at, hence why it's position fluctuates. And its not as if they have anything (knowingly) planned for the US.

Yeah the US is not important right now. It never will be a priority until they actually do a FULL radio tour to push the song down people's throats. Until then, they should concentrate in the UK.

Great to see it climbing in NZ! And charting at #44 in Germany.

I guess they're not really promoting the song abroad and just promoting the TV show because of Rochelle - partly. I mean it would look weird promoting and launching internationally one member down, and it wouldn't create a good impression to the markets when they're introducing themselves... especially when Rochelle is pretty much the focus of the song. Such a bad time for her to get pregnant. Quite annoying actually. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her but while the song is doing well in places like Germany and New Zealand, they can't do much to better the progress because of her in a way. And by the time she comes back, the song will probably have dived into oblivion in those places meaning it's too late to salvage anything. Dammit, Rochelle. Why now at the biggest point in your career?! So messy. This is gonna sound awful but I do feel quite bad for the other girls in that sense.

Maybe they'll make another go of it with Gentleman in the US? I don't know. But Rochelle has definitely harmed things because they can't go as full throttle promo wise, instead just doing random magazine and radio interviews for now where they can get away with being a member down. Their label in the US have been pretty poor in helping the girls get off the ground too, though. Sure, the girls haven't blown up or done great but what's the point in signing them if they're not even going to try and push them? It's literally just been E! doing all the promo work in the US. Or maybe Mercury/Def Jam are saving their efforts for Gentleman.

I disagree about the US label being poor. They managed to land the girls Jay Leno, The Today Show, Chelsea Lately and Fashion Police in the space of a week and then got them the Wendy Williams show in March. That's actually pretty big promo spots for an unknown UK group. The mistake they made was delaying the radio release for so long. The song should have been sent to radio in December and it could hopefully have built up through Chasing The Saturdays and their promotion and then they could have done a radio tour after it. Cramming a bunch of TV spots in one week and then letting the girls return home when the song was so close to becoming a hit was a huge mistake.

I wonder if Gentlemen would fair better in the US. The beat is similar to Justin's Senorita :)

It was obviously E! who got them Fashion Police and Chelsea Lately though.

Sure, their label landed them Jay Leno, Today Show and Wendy Williams (or maybe E! did, who knows) but their label could have done a whole lot more - and like you say, not let them come back home when the song was at #102 on iTunes. That was just stupid.

And MyDecember, totally agree now you've said that actually! :P

I think the documentary was a bad idea. They spent most of last year absent from the UK filming it (all we got was 30 Days which came and went in a matter of weeks) and then when they began to launch themselves in the US, they put the documentary ahead of the music. It was all a waste of time, really because the US clearly didn't give a shit and because they'd spent so long in the US filming the show, they probably felt they needed a "break" and that's why they came home so early.

It's just a mess. One week of promo, the song shoots up about 1,350 places on iTunes, there's a buzz around the girls and then they come for two months, the song dissapears from iTunes, the show is a flop and they get stuck on Wendy Wlliams for a performance then they're back home again.

I think the rumours about touring with Justin may be true, though.

It's most likely E! that got them these performing slots as they are related to the E! network somehow. ;)

The lack of a radio tour was indeed their biggest mistake.

The show has helped them A LOT in the UK, though.

Same. What's that going to do for them though? I doubt it'll do a lot apart from getting them some more Twitter followers when Justin tweets about them lol. I don't think it'll help them in the sense of getting people to buy their music as most people won't bother with them after the show each night if that makes sense? They'll now know of them, but I doubt it'll have any major impact? Maybe I'm wrong but I can't see his fans rushing to download their songs on iTunes after his concert? They'll probably have forgotten about them by the time the shows over! :P It'll only work if they use it as a base to build upon afterwards - like a radio tour to follow it up. Still, it's better than nothing I guess.

Performing to thousands of people in the US with the same core fanbase!?

Even if they don't get many sales they are getting there names out there.

I agree. They would be very wise to do the tour with JB. It will encourage people to check them out and on doing so will realise WAU IS OUT and maybe help it :)

I wonder if Gentleman will be the second US single? No doubt if they were touring with Bieber (Which the Girls have confirmed to be in talks for) they would get much more recognition with over 20,000 a day watching them.

I just can't see 'Gentleman' being a hit in the US at all. It sounds far too quirky and British, especially compared to how American and "generic" What About Us was.

Plus by the time 'Gentleman' gets released in the US (if it does at all) the album will be out in the UK.

I can see it becoma a big success, in my view. Sounds very Spice-girl esq, which means it may do well depending on how they do with a radio tour
