Predicted winner from last year's X Factor, Maria famously left the show early when Louis Walsh opted to keep the Irish Conway Sisters over her. This caused a national outcry, but London born Maria was the real winner with no less than four major labels offering her deals.

Maria's debut single 'Sleepwalking' samples the Chi-lites 'Have You Seen Her' and thus combines a cool sample with a catchy chorus and a flawless vocal. 'Sleepwalking' is bound to launch Maria as a premier British female artist.

X factor was certainly not Maria's first experience in the Music Business. At 18 she was offered a record deal with XL records, she has performed backing vocals for many artists including Gabrielle and Lemar, and signed a publishing deal at 23 which saw her writing songs for many European acts.

Kasabian - Empire

[flash=425,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH6xuZWQatg.swf

'Empire' marks the return of Kasabian, the sonically driven baggy revivalists who became the mouthy heroes of 2004 with their self-titled debut album and went on to undisputed victories at last years' summer festivals. Produced by Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Editors, Ladytron), 'Empire' is the title track taken from their new album, which is due out at the end of the summer. -HMV

17 :down: (from 9) Paolo Nutini - Last request

Hailing from Paisley, 19 year old singer/songwriter Paolo Nutini fuses together his diverse influences of David Bowie, Oasis, the Beatles, U2, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac into a stirring and enchanting concoction. 'Last Request', his debut single, is an uplifting ballad that fits into the same category as James Blunt's 'You're Beautiful' and Daniel Powter's 'Bad Day', adding a very strong, laid-back, distinctive and soulful vocal. - HMV

In addition to being a famous socialite that needs no introduction, Paris Hilton has dabbled in modelling, acting, writing and now singing. Vocally best described as a cross between Gwen Stefani and Debbie Harry, Paris effortlessly coos over debut single 'Stars Are Blind', a breezy and infectious reggae-influenced track produced by Fernando Garibay, which, rather astonishingly, sets up Paris as a credible pop act.- HMV

If Iris is not top 10, will it be his first song not to go top 10 (I doubt it will rise next week),
