I'm kind of going off Gentleman, I'm worried about how it's going to fare in the charts.

It'll go top 15 on the fan base alone, other than that I am not sure. Mainly as I really can't decide if I like it at all.
Does anybody else think a ' 30 Days ' chart run? I hope this doesn't kill off their airplay. It's like Pixie Lott. 'All About Tonight' smash followed by a flop r&b track in 'What Do You Take Me For'

To me, it's a pop track with a rap middle-8, so I don't think it will change anything.

It's catchy, it has many hooks, they have been doing something different (now hopefully, people will shut the hell up and they can go back to the dance sound), it has lots of personnality, it feels more like a track that you play on radios (while What About Us was more of a song you play in clubs). Also, it's very Stooshe/Little Mix/Early-Girls Aloud & Spice Girls. These girlgroups have all been successful with that kind of pop sound, so I don't see why The Saturdays wouldn't, especially coming off from a #1.

I think it depends on how well it does on the first two days. If it goes like #1-3 on iTunes, radios will automatically play the shit out of it. Airplay wise, What About Us was like #21 on Sunday and then top 10 by like Thursday on radio airplay and it's only because it was #1 on iTunes all week. Radios felt like they should play the "most popular song" at the moment. It might happen with Gentleman, we'll see.

I don't think we're looking at 30 Days chartrun at all. More like All Fired Up. Something like #3, 60k on the first week, 190-200k when out of the top 100 and will have sold like 225k by the end of the year.

I still find the song quite boring. I was really hyped up about it from the Chasing The Saturdays preview and Una saying it was better than 'All Fired Up' but it's just very dull for me. I've played it about five times and I couldn't care less about the video, which is a shame because I was obsessed with 30 Days and What About Us when they leaked/premiered.

There's no denying it'll be a hit, though. Girls will love it.

318. I Love It (feat. Charli XCX) - Icona Pop

620. Gentleman - The Saturdays

Pre-orders.

The hype around Love It is much bigger though. The release is anticipated.

Not sure if people already knew but Chase & Status are also releasing their single the same week as the girls.

People shouldn't get their hopes up - June 30th looks like a very busy week with John Newman, Icona Pop, Chase & Status, Iggy Azalea and The Sats all releasing plus previous week releases from The Wanted and Avril Lavigne.

Gentleman isn't a #1 single anyway IMO so I'm aiming with top 5 but I think it might end up around #6-#8. Icona Pop are nailed on for #1 surely. Besides, anyone worrying about pre-order differences is a bit off - they have far bigger hype and interest with their release - it's not all that worrying to be honest since I Love It has been hyped up for ages and been out there a good while now and John Newman's single looks set to do pretty well too. Chase & Status are kinda returning to the scene so there will be some hype for them too.

Don't forget Robin Thicke's boring track is getting released soon so that could push it down further. Walks Like Rihanna is nothing to worry about if its getting released a week prior because it'll debut at number 3 or something and drop to like 27 the week Gentleman's released so nothing to worry about there.

Yeah, I think a #05 - #07 entry is looking likely!

I'm not sure how far this will be supported via radios either

Robin Thicke's song is very interesting, actually. I like it. You're right that The Wanted (and Avril) won't be a threat, but there's no way The Sats will beat Icona Pop, John Newman and Chase and Status.

The video really needs to be spectacular to get the song as much attention as possible.

It would be amazing if it reached #1 but anything more than an All Fired Up chart run (like someone previously mentioned) would be respectable I guess. Whether it flops or tops we got to give it to them for experimenting......................even if it is on the back of a #1. :)
yeah look how many complinats there was about 30 days and WAU being the same... well yall got what yall want right now! just wait.. NGUOL will rape #1 this fall....
(like someone previously mentioned)

'keeps happening this week.

It's such an obvious DUD. God knows what they're thinking.

I can't help but feel like they're killing the momentum they've built up, I did have suspicions they would because they always do.

SURELY (from what we've heard) 'Not Giving Up On Love' was the clear choice for a follow-up?

:cheer:

Everyone made remarks about NGUOL not being an "album seller" and that Gentleman is better because it's different, but they aren't even releasing the album off the back of Gentleman so a lot of good that did.. I realize we've only heard a few tracks and only about a minute of NGUOL but I'm already in love with it, and I do think it will sell albums because it's downright catchy AND similar to WAU. Consistency In Style = Loyal Fanbase = Album Sales

Not Giving Up On Love was the perfect single to released, but fans were moaning to have something different and now that they do they want the old dance sound back  Fair enough, I understand them, The Sats do dance pop like no one else. Best thing ever.
the funny thing is, the last time this happened, fans moaned for a ballad. then MHTO happened. #15.

True, actually.

I can't wait to listen to the album. I cannot believe it won't happen until like October or whatever...
