Wonder how it'll do in Ireland... usually a sign of how they'll do in the UK. Anywhere in the top 6 (JCGE, WAU, AFU, Missing You) they're usually top 3 in the UK, anywhere top 20 (30 Days, Notorious) they usually end up in the lower end of top 10.

Hmm, how did Heart Takes Over do on Irish iTunes?

EDIT: Reached #31, #15 in the UK.

I'm really thinking it'll be a top 20 peak in the UK.

The unfortunate thing is this is getting almost no airplay in Ireland. It might go Top 10 there but I don't think it'll stick. For the sake of comparison, WAU was already Top 30 on Irish airplay during release, while Gentleman hasn't even entered the Top 100.

I really thought it'd do well with the public/radio as sonically it's in a similar vein to Get Lucky and Blurred Lines IMO but the lyrics don't appeal to guys like the aforementioned songs do so that'll hinder it's success - a song really has to have universal mass appeal for both sexes to get near the top of the charts. Like you say, add limited airplay and poor, poor pre-orders and this is not looking too good. Disappointing! They'll claw it back with a stomper of a third single I hope. WAU proved they can come back from a messy single campaign/dodgy ground.

I really hope it doesn't just nosedive after the first week. Hopefully people cotton onto it after the release? Clinging onto hope. :P

We can see only the EP charting so far, does that mean, they will chart on albums

Nope. They will chart in the singles chart. Sales from the EP are added to the single.

Sales of the EP contribute to its positioning on the Singles Chart.

Who heard them on Radio 2 just now? Really funny interview, I'd advise you all to listen back on iPlayer when you get the chance. Mollie mentioned that she was 'SO RAPPER' at one point (love her).

Also...(cause he was interviewing them) when the hell did Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley get married?

Almost a year ago

Well nobody told me! I didn't even know they were dating...although I must admit I miss Cat being on UK TV. The Beeb should have renewed that 'So You Think You're a Dance Biscuit' show she did...

ANYWAY. Back on topic. My copy of signed was dispatched last night too. I don't think people should be getting their knickers into quite the twist over where this will chart. We've all gathered it won't be a number one but it's not as if they'll be dropped. The good thing is they've taken a risk and done something out the ordinary.

1st, it would have never happened to Not Giving Up On Love because it's actually an extremely great song.

2nd, I NEVER WANTED SOMETHING DIFFERENT. ALL MY FAVORITE SONGS BY THEM ARE DANCE-ORIENTED.

I won't ever say it enough.

Because their similar songs have always done so well, I mean All Fired Up selling less than 250,000 copies and plummeting out the chart, that didn't happen. Oh WAIT it did.

Do you smell those 352k sales from the dance number called What About Us? Hmmm such a good smell.

About All Fired Up selling a bit less than 250k. So? It's still more than Gentleman will ever sell. And I'm pretty sure the chartrun to All Fired Up is going to much better than Gentleman's.

Oh and Una confirmed the album would have dance tracks and ballads, so you better expect another dance song as the third single. ;)

It's a weak song, regardless of whether it's different to their usual 'dancier' sound or not, just in the same way '30 Days' was in that vein but limp. I would even say 'Forever Is Over' (which is similar) is a stronger song, although it does have some quoteable lyrics.

I just think the concept of this song is let down by the production. The chorus just seems to randomly float in and out of the song with no real build up and it isn't strong enough to carry the song. I'm really bored of it now already. I also HATE the video so much. It's so dark, cheap, ugly and tacky looking. :(

#153 on pre-orders though.

This EP has 5 tracks, does it mean 5 single sales for each EP sale

No an EP counts towards just one single sale. If you buy each Gentleman track off the EP seperately it would count as 5 sales.

Then i shall support the sats by buying each track off the EP per day. How does that sound :) :funky: ;)

They're performing "Gentleman" on This Morning in about ooh...20 minutes? They've just been interviewed. Frankie looks so cute with her little bump...

The EP's #8 on Irish iTunes apparently so already doing fairly well!
