June 10, 201312 yr I think the main thing, regardless of who or what it rips off, is that it's a rubbish song.

June 10, 201312 yr I am probably the only person on this forum who loves Gotta Be You but Carry You is undoubtedly terrible.
June 10, 201312 yr I am probably the only person on this forum who loves Gotta Be You but Carry You is undoubtedly terrible. Gotta Be You's fab. It wasn't a great single choice, though. More Than This would have been much better. :(
June 10, 201312 yr I'd say 'Carry You' is more The Wanted on an off day more than anything. Maybe you are right, but I have to say it seems Walks Like Rihanna was truly done on an off day as it is probably one of the worst songs I have heard in a while - Carry You is better than that song. But I agree, there is definitely something missing in Carry You, it doesn't have a quality for strong debut single. So, I'm not surprised it got to no. 6. I still wish the boys success though and I am interested in their album.
June 10, 201312 yr Missing the Top 5 is a terrible start for a boyband of this nature, signed to Syco and coming from X Factor, while many would be delighted with number 6 which is very respectable i highly suspect all in the Union J camp is highly disappointed. Second single is more than crucial for them now. They aren't signed to Syco or Cowell would be pushing them and parading them on BGT.
June 11, 201312 yr Just announced a tour for December/January this morning. I think the phrase "running before you can walk" springs to mind: http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/Union-J-tick...ist_table_focus
June 11, 201312 yr Author They could have at least given us a 2nd single first, not even 1D announced a tour this early. Still getting tickets though, if sales are anything to go by at least they won't sell out too fast. :P

June 11, 201312 yr That's not very nice is it? They're young lads, give them a chance. ;) Pretty sure some had up their minds on the boys from the very first day they appeared so there's no point in even questioning it now :) Anyway even as such a big fan of them on the show, Carry You did get a little boring for me (and then very slightly annoying) fairly quickly, so i hope they deliver a special second single to keep them alight. They have the PO-tential.
June 11, 201312 yr Pretty sure some had up their minds on the boys from the very first day they appeared so there's no point in even questioning it now :) I don't think this is very fair, I'm pretty objective about the group and yet I just don't like Carry You at all. I hope they come out with a good second single but I've not got much hope based on the first single. And they are running before they can walk. They haven't had enough support to sell much tickets for a tour. I'm still not judging the group until I've heard more material though.

Not being amongst Cowell's chosen ones will make it very difficult for them. I'm not a fan but anyone with ears can hear they can sing far better than 1D.
June 11, 201312 yr So agree with this. Not being amongst Cowell's chosen ones will make it very difficult for them. I'm not a fan but anyone with ears can hear they can sing far better than 1D. UM, I wouldn't exactly go that far just yet. We've only heard one song from them, while 1D have two albums. And this is coming from somebody who prefers Union J to 1D. :P

And this is coming from somebody who prefers Union J to 1D. :P Well, you can go that far if you watched them on X Factor- even from the X Factor performances, they were far better vocally than 1D who were all over the place. So, it can be said even now that Union J are indeed better vocalists than 1D - imagine how great they will be after more experience.

Of course Union J were far better vocalists on The X Factor than 1D were. 1D were pathetic on The X Factor, while Union J's only duff performance was Don't Stop Me Now. But talking about their vocals outside of The X Factor, and in singles - 1D are obviously more established than Union J, and have better vocals, while Union J have only showed what they have to offer in one song. When Union J's album surfaces, I'll make a judgement then. ^_^
June 11, 201312 yr I mean, listen to this acoustic version, no one messed anything up and it is very good. Jaymi once again shows he is a strong vocalist:
