Just being pipped to the post is the pinnacle of Kelly pop/rock, Behind These Hazel Eyes. Having received 10 10s, it takes the title of the most 10s received in this rate, impressive! Released as the second worldwide single from Breakaway and 3rd US single, Behind These Hazel Eyes was a second consectutive transatlantic top 10 for Kelly and her consectutive single to be certified platinum. As one of two Kelly songs in my all time top 5, this has such a place in my heart and is Kelly at her absolute best - a melodic chorus, guitar riffs and top notch vox make for about as close to a perfect pop/rock song as you can get.

But Behind These Hazel Eyes just misses out on being as perfect as this :wub: Gathering a staggering 8 11s, Because Of You collected more 11s than any other song in this rate, and despite a baffling 3 from Toby manages to trounce 88 other songs to become the winner! Released as the third worldwide and fourth US single from Breakaway, this adult contemporary style piano ballad that bursts with emotion was written by Kelly in her youth and she wanted it to be included on Thankful. Unfortunately for her, the record company got their way but it was finally included on Breakaway after a few tweaks with co-writers, and commercially it was her 5th US top 10 single and her 4th UK top 10 single, also becoming another platinum seller for her. It's radio friendly sound has ensured continuing airplay for the track and it has become one of Kelly's biggest and best known hits. But more importantly it's my all time favourite song, which of course she cares more about :kink: I'm so so glad that Buzzjack sees the flawlessness of this track, and it absolutely deserves the almost perfect 9.55 average, 8 lots of 11 and 5 lots of 10 <3

I can't even remember if I've heard People Like Us. Must have rated it but forgotten it completely.

 

Behind These Hazel Eyes HAS to win. Because Of You is great but inferior to BTHE.

Brilliant top 2. Both songs are fantastic and classics imo.

I love Kelly truly, but BOY is one of her most overated singles. I'm not underestimating it as a great song, but in terms of her back catalogue, it's easily a #20 for me.
