The Saturdays post album releases (when they actually tried to release one) did better most of the time. Yes, you have "Work", but we all know why "Work" didn't have the success it should have had.

I do think The Saturdays are the biggest girlgroup in the UK right now. Surely Little Mix is close, but considering the amount of promo/airplay/media coverage they have, as shadow2009 said, you expect them to - not only do better than The Saturdays - but do much much better in general.

Exactly. 'Issues', 'Ego' and 'Higher' all went top ten and sold over 250K each as post album singles compared to 'Change Your Life' and 'How Ya Doin?' only going to #12 and #16 (?) and having really short chart runs. 'DNA' had a really short chart run as well even with an X-Factor return performance, and the album still isn't platinum after four singles/airplay/tons of promotion/XF winners/press coverage. I really think they'll struggle with their second album.

can I just say I love the SatsLove right now!

they deserve the love, aside from being so fetch, they make incredible pop and are genuinly lovely and get along!

I think that LM have had a ridiculous amount of promotion, and the fact they arn't as big as they should be for that shows that they aren't as great as Simon Cowell would have hoped. they certinaly arn't the "new spice girls" as they like to think!! I hear 'Wings' on the radio all the time out here, and considering im British and heard it back home all summer last year, I really notice it! It is not nearly as big over here as it should be for the airplay they are getting, which shows they arn't all that.

I've heard WAU once (and the radio is on in work all day!)

Why so much bitterness towards other girl bands? It's not necessary.

I think Little Mix have done quite well for themselves and they're a very marketable group, especially compared to various acts from X-Factor so I think they'll be fine.

I agree, i dont see why other girlbands have to be slated, they all have their own qualities and there is room for them all. They are all living their dreams and doing well for themselves, surely there is nothing wrong with that.

If we look at some X Factor winners i dont think we can deny Little Mix are doing well, plus they are only starting out, just like Stooshe and are finding their sound, the Saturdays are around much longer and it could be argued they still haven't fully discovered their sound so give the newbies their chance as well.

it's rebounded from 59-40 in Irish iTunes in 3 days. Baffling!!!

Well to be fair it probably sold all of 10 extra copies to do that.

36 Birdy 7,800

I'm guessing What About Us sold 6,500+

The #44 sold a little over 6.8K so hopefully an excess of 7K for the Sats? A further 6.5K next week too perhaps.

That's all of 'What About Us' chart run's so far, to be honest we couldn't have wished for better! The TV and Radio support was and still is amazing, just wish it hadn't dropped down so quickly on the official chart but ohwell. :P

Hm, It's quite weird to see it increasing on radio airplay, yet still falling quite fast on the official charts. It's pleasing that What About Us is their biggest airplay hit so far down the line.

I'm pretty sure they sold like 7.2k. As I said, the sales are pretty close bar the top 30.

Yeah! An increase on sales from the song at last weeks #39 too I guess. :)

When you look at it in this format it really makes you realize how amazingly well this song has done. This is up to around 325,000 in sales now, by the time Gentleman is released I can see it being at 345,000, and once the third single and album are released it should be around 360,000 at least. I'm thinking by the end of this era it will definitely exceed 400,000, maybe even sooner if they reduce its price.

323600 Saturdays - What About Us

meaning that last week it must have sold 7,400. Hopefully it manages to sneak top 40 this week and edge closer to 330,000, remember that their performing on Radio1 Big weekend that will be shown on BBC3, maybe they might get a minor boost from that?
