June 2, 201312 yr It's back at #50 now. Somehow, I think that they could manage to be #40 next week only if they can be #37-#41 on Wednesday night and remain along these positions. Although, it has been doing amazingly well so far and I'm more than okay with 10 weeks in the top 40. Now we can only hope it will stay a few more weeks in the top 50? It's hard to tell where they'll chart because of all the BGT/Voice/59p songs flying up and down the chart every few days but I think they might end up just outside the top 40 again. They must be doing well somewhere else (or have a few versions kicking about) because they were nowhere near #43 on iTunes all week.
June 2, 201312 yr Yeah, I agree, I was expecting a #48-#49 this week. The highest they got all week on iTunes was #44 and that was yesterday. They feel to #55 on Tuesday, #56 on Wednesday and never started rising again until Friday and managed @ 44 yesterday. Once Bgt ends on Saturday, it should be much more stable.
June 3, 201312 yr Is there a possibility of this being up for a Brit with Best Single in Feb? I know it's very doubtful and it depends on how many other UK artists drop singles until whenever the cut off date is (probably enough to put the girls out of the running) but still. :P EDIT: Actually yeah, pretty much a no to a Brit nom lol. Checked the YTD thread with top 20 biggest UK singles in the chart forum - Bastille, Rudimental, 1D, Passenger, Disclosure, The Saturdays, Duke Dumont and James Arthur all feature... add in other big British acts releasing throughout the rest of the year too and I doubt a lot that they'll be in with a shot. Oh well. Ignore this post. :P Edited June 3, 201312 yr by Encore
June 3, 201312 yr why would be this nominated for best british single? it's their worst song... if notorious wasn't (which is their most critically acclaimed song) and afu, i doubt this will...
June 3, 201312 yr why would be this nominated for best british single? it's their worst song... if notorious wasn't (which is their most critically acclaimed song) and afu, i doubt this will... That would be because Best British Single has nothing to do with opinion or whether it's critically acclaimed. It's down to airplay and sales, where the Brit comittee/board or whatever they're called compile a top 10 of singles based on those two factors, and then the public vote for their favourite single from that final 10 leading up to the Brits and on the night I think. June 3, 201312 yr Thankfully their airplay is still strong They've only dropped to #14 on Radio Airplay. They also managed to climb to #21 from #28 on TV Airplay.
June 3, 201312 yr I wish it would reflect in sales though. It does though. Look at how much their tracks that had barely any airplay sold. Think about 30 Days or My Heart Takes Over. That's what The Saturdays sells in general if you take good airplay away from them. Then look at the tracks that had a constant, but quite average airplay, like Notorious. They did okay in the end, but it's far from being a huge seller. Now we have a more typical situation where you got good airplay, like All Fired Up. And finally when you give them constant and great airplay, you got What About Us. :cheer: 16th biggest selling song of the year with 338K sales. Weren't they at 332k with last week update? I'm pretty sure they sold around 7,4k this week which would put them a 339k anyway?
June 3, 201312 yr I can't believe how well it's doing on radio. :o The only other song in the top 20 that has been in the chart as long as them is Bruno Mars and he's HUGE on radio!
June 3, 201312 yr Weren't they at 332k with last week update? I'm pretty sure they sold around 7,4k this week which would put them a 339k anyway? The #42 song did 6,845 so they should've done around 6,500. I'd say that'd put them just under 339,000.

If I could list you the number of times I've posted the wrong sales.....haha. :) Im guessing it'll take a few months to pass 400K. Edited June 3, 201312 yr by MyDecember
June 5, 201312 yr why would be this nominated for best british single? it's their worst song... if notorious wasn't (which is their most critically acclaimed song) and afu, i doubt this will... Notorious is their most critically acclaimed song?! Seriously?! Is this common knowledge?
