I don't think 'They' made it up. The tweet didn't come from the Saturdays did it.
Impressive that this has sold more than Royals, Wrecking Ball and other "big" #1's of the year. :)

YES! Especially when you consider the worldwide hype around the insufferable brat Lorde and the huge media frenzy around Miley.

Well done Sats

To be fair, the Mollie award thing never said that it sold 400,00 here and 100,000 in the Us. We just estimated that. I couldv'e been 387,000 here and 113,000 over there

120,000 in the US! Wow :o

Its crazy I know! Like Little Mix sold 500k for their debut of Wings in America and have got into America so I am quite impressed with 120k really :cheer:

Says there how many were sold at the end of the opening paragraph documented with a source. :)

The source leads to a UK chart commentary. There's no actual proof it sold so much in the US, and it's kinda hard to believe anyway.

It was at #102 for a while, hung around the top 200 for a few days and then lingered around the bottom end of the Pop Charts for a month or two. 120K sold considering it's iTunes performance and zero airplay is a bit unrealistic.

I WANT to believe it, but I can't. Maybe they've included the sales for Canada and New Zealand or something?

Well, you need to believe it lol.

Mollie was holding a confirmation thingy in her hands, so it's pretty much official you know. It had both the UK flag and the US one, and only these two. Now, they sold 387k in the UK which leaves around 113k for the US, yes. Probably more since the confirmation is one or two weeks old already.

Hmmm. If they've sold 113K in the US then that's actually really good considering it was only promoted for a few days and didn't get sent to radio! :o

GO BACK TO AMERICA GIRLS THEY LOVE YOU XOXOXOX

(no but seriously, go back girls)

Yeah, I think 113k is realistic enough. I mean one week at #102 is enough to sell about 30k alone, and it did stick around for a bit.
Remember, sales are higher in America than in the UK, so I'd say 113k is pretty realistic for it TBH. Not a fantastic total but considering how messy the release was, it did okay.

They were quite surprised in Saturdays 24/7 a few years back of how a few people recognised them when they were over there filming for Higher so I think give it a while and America might just love them ;) B-)

BPI has released the full list of certifications from the past two weeks on their website. Sadly, as expected What About Us is not one of them. But hopefully it'll happen within the next month or two.

It wouldn't make sense if this wasn't the case. It's so easy to sell in the US tbh. I remember Get Outta My Way by Kylie Minogue never even touched top 150 itunes there yet sold 50,000 that year

Duke Dumont - Need U (100%) was certified Gold, and it's predicted sales were 396,000+ which means The Sats who are on 386,000 could be possibly past 390,000?

I'm assuming What About Us has sold at least 392k at this point after adding in gift card effect sales, and with it still hanging around the Top 400 on iTunes I'm hoping it'll be Gold in the next couple months.
