May 16, 201312 yr Author Dizzee Rascal ft Robbie Williams - 'Goin' Crazy' Dizzee ropes in the Robster for his poppiest moment so far May 16, 2013 It's nothing new to point out that Dizzee Rascal has embraced pop in a way nobody could have predicted. His last album proper – 2009's 'Tongue N' Cheek' – produced massive smashes including 'Bonkers', 'Holiday' and 'Dance Wiv Me', the latter of which saw him collaborate with Calvin Harris waaaay before Rihanna did. But indulge us as we employ some hindsight for just a moment. Thinking back a decade to 2003, when the grime prodigy was gearing up to release first single 'I Luv U', kickstarting a year in which he would win the Mercury Prize, you do wonder what the then 18-year-old would think of the 2013 version of Dizzee. 'Goin’ Crazy' is his most radio-friendly hit yet, the first taste from his forthcoming fifth album. Love it or hate it, over three and a half minutes, the boy from Bow solidifies his position at the top of the pop game. But then his new friend Robbie does know a bit about writing big hits. The song itself mines the same territory as 'Tongue N' Cheek'. Dizzee's verses skip by quickly as a catchy chorus from Robbie dominates. Talk about the past all you like, as Dizzee Rascal in 2013 says: 'Middle finger in the air, don't give a care, goin' full throttle'. Proof, if any were needed, that Dizzee belongs to the masses. nme.com

May 24, 201312 yr Author Shunned Robbie Williams plays Radio 1's Big Weekend with Dizzee Rascal Robbie Williams Tickets The former Take That man teamed up with Dizzee on 'Goin' Crazy' http://i42.tinypic.com/beyddi.jpg Robbie Williams joined Dizzee Rascal onstage at Radio 1's Big Weekend earlier today (May 24), despite a recent public row with the station. Williams accompanied Dizzee for the pair's current collaborative single, 'Goin' Crazy', with Radio 1 tweeting: "er, yes that was actual @robbiewilliams joining @itsDizzeerascal for 1 track before being whisked away! #bigweekend". Despite 'Goin' Crazy' appearing on Radio 1's current playlist, station managers chose not to play the former Take That star's 2012 track 'Candy'. This led to a spat between Williams and DJ Nick Grimshaw, with the breakfast show host branding the singer too old for them to champion. Williams retaliated during a recent live performance, calling the DJ a 'bast*rd'. The Sun reports that Williams insulted Grimshaw from the stage during an appearance in London at the Sony Radio Acadamy Awards earlier this month. Speaking to the audience, Williams said: "I did the Brits and started singing, 'Hey-ho, here we go' to a bunch of industry people and they were all just like, 'f*** off, you're fat and you're old. And Radio 1 don't play you no more – you’re fat and you're old'." He reportedly then spoke to Grimshaw and said: "Isn’t that right Nick, you bast*rd?" Biffy Clyro, The Vaccines, Vampire Weekend and Calvin Harris are among the acts set to play BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend. The annual bash is currently taking place in Londonderry, Northern Ireland from May 24-26. Tonight will see a headline performance from Calvin Harris, whilst Biffy Clyro headline tomorrow alongside The Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Labrinth and Foals. Bruno Mars closes the weekender on Sunday with Paramore, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Jake Bugg, Vampire Weekend, Disclosure, Everything Everything, Jessie Ware, Miles Kane and Haim also set to play the final day. Tickets were all snapped up within an hour of being made available. NME.com
May 28, 201312 yr Author ‘If I keep people jumping I’m happy’ - Says Dizzee Rascal DIZZEE RASCAL certainly knows a thing or two about writing a summer anthem. The rapper – real name Dylan Mills – has released some belters in the past few years. Collaborations with CALVIN HARRIS, FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE and ARMAND VAN HELDEN have all stormed the charts. And he’s back this summer with another effort – this time with ROBBIE WILLIAMS. The pair have joined forces on Goin’ Crazy and performed the new track together at Radio One’s Big Weekend. ANDY HALLS caught up with Dizzee just before he took to the stage... What have you got coming up in the summer? I’m doing T in the Park, and at the moment I’m supporting MUSE on their UK tour. We kicked off in Coventry then we did the Emirates and Manchester. You’re not massively into your football – but you follow West Ham and Arsenal... I love performing at the Emirates, just for its sheer size. I’m from the east of London so West Ham are my team, but I do love going to watch Arsenal, and I really like the stadium. What’s playing in a stadium that massive like? I’ve played there before and it’s wicked. It’s the size of it and the energy of everyone, I love it. I’m playing a lot of new music at the moment, from my new album, so it’s wicked to put it out there and see how it goes down. A lot of my new music is geared towards being played live, so it’s interesting to see what happens. Hopefully I’ve got the tracks to keep people dancing. As long as I see people jumping, I’m happy with that. You’ve just teamed up with Robbie. How’d it come about? That was good – when I got shown a track by a guy called Tim Anderson, the producer, last year, I loved the instrumental and it felt like some sort of New York disco. It was indie – and I haven’t really done that. I did a thing with the ARCTIC MONKEYS a few years ago but other than that, no. I thought, ‘This is different to the sort of thing I’ve been doing the last few years,’ so I recorded it and was looking for someone to sing it. And that’s where Robbie came into the mix. What was recording with Robbie like? Well, he said he’d only do it if we recorded together. I went over to his house in LA and was there from six in the evening until six in the morning. In the end we spent about an hour and a half recording the track. It was good – it was really organic. He jumped in the booth and I was giving him directions. These days you don’t always get in a studio with the other artist or the producer. He’s a legend too. Reckon Goin’ Crazy is another No1? It feels like the same sort of vibe as Holiday and Dance Wiv Me... . Hopefully, man. The main thing for me was that I came out with something different. And I’m glad that I’ve brought out something that people don’t expect from me, I love that. I still live for that. Working with Robbie was a bit of a curveball. Any more unlikely collaborations lined up? Maybe. I love doing different things. People get bored otherwise, don’t they? - NICK Grimshaw says there’s no hard feelings between him and ROBBIE WILLIAMS after the singer called him a b****** because Radio 1 refused to play his single. The DJ said: “All that Robbie s*** was very funny. He listens to the show.” Source..SUN UK
