Last year's X Factor runner up will release his as-yet-untitled debut album on 1st July. News on a debut single is expected soon as well.

This should be in the Rnb and Soul forum should it not ? as I Imagine his music will be very Rnb and Soul . I'm kinda looking forward to this I wanted James to win but I liked Jahmene he's nice guy and he's got a good voice so I hope he does well. :)

He's also spoken out about the abuse that him and his family faced when they were younger today.

I think that some people need to show some respect to him, he's had a hard life and this is his big break for him.

Anyway, I liked Jahmene on The X Factor and I'm fully convinced that the album will get a high chart position. I can't say the same if he releases a single though. He will probably have success that is reminiscent of Rebecca Ferguson at least.

We can respect him, but it doesn't mean we have to like his music.

I know that and I'm not saying that, but seeing people dismiss him is... I know that I would feel upset if people were criticising my chance to get away from my home life.

(that's really off-topic, isn't it? WHOOPS)

Not every artist can please everyone. Jahmene happens to not please everyone. He can only be dismissed by people who are not fans of his music. And I'm not a fan of his music, unfortunately for him.

I'm not asking for people to like him or to convert to liking his music. I'm just saying that I find it disheartening to see the dismissals when he's gone through a lot.

Although I think we should stop now, because we're both going round in circles.

But you're basically getting on at us, telling us to give him a break because you personally find it disheartening to see him being "dismissed". He may have had a hard life, but the music industry isn't going to make it any easier for him.

I don't understand why you can't understand an artist's struggle whilst also disliking their music. Seems a bit of a petty argument to me, particularly when you consider that most people go through some struggle or another in life and nobody's expecting everybody to LIKE/RESPECT them all of the time.

I liked Jahmene but I really have no interest in his music unforch.

I find all this argument pretty pointless for now as he doesn't even have his music out yet - who knows what songs he will record, I don't think he will do covers.

We will just have to wait and see.

Nicole Scherzinger has confirmed on Twitter that she has done a duet with Jahmene that will appear on his album.
Looking forward to hearing that duet I always thought Nicole secretley wanted Jahmene to win more than James.

Album title officially unveiled as 'Love Never Fails'...here's the artwork!

Doesn't look too bad. If there's any gospal choir songs on there, he's got me. :kink: But any ballads from him/oversinging, it'll be dreadful.

According to Amazon, here is the tracklist:

1. Fix You

2. The Greatest Love - Jahméne Douglas feat. Nicole Scherzinger

3. His Eye On the Sparrow

4. Halo

5. Forever Young

6. Give Us This Day

7. In the Arms of the Angel

8. Titanium

9. I Look to You

10. Next to Me

I'm so disappointed it is mostly a cover album, looking at titles - the only original song is probably Give Us This Day as that doesn't sound familiar. I was really looking forward to hear his songs, not covers...

Oh dear... If that really is Emeli's Next to Me, I can already tell it's going to be dreadful. :heehee:

Is it right of passage that every SyCo show act who releases an album of covers must cover "Fix You"?!

I imagine it will all be awful. I'll give the Nicole duet a listen (is that what they performed on The X Factor final?), but other than that, it'll be a wailing mess of an album.
