Posted April 22, 201313 yr How I compile my charts: With a few exceptions, I don't go out of my way to seek out new songs - I usually wait until I hear them on the radio. I mainly listen to Radio 1 and for this reason, most (though not all) songs in my chart are those which are played on Radio 1. I don't usually add a song to my chart until it's playlisted on Radio 1. Songs generally tend to climb gradually as they grow on me, peak and then fall fast, so the chart looks similar to an 80's/90's singles chart. I also usually get bored of a song within a few weeks, so songs don't generally tend to hang around the chart for more than a few weeks - typically around 9 or 10 weeks for a Number 1. And it's a second week at the top for Kodaline, though it was a close battle with Clean Bandit this week. Nelly continues to be my guilty pleasure, how much higher can he climb? 1 (1) Kodaline - High Hopes (6 wks / HCP 1) [25-10-6-2-1-1] 2 (2) Clean Bandit - Mozart's House (5 wks / HCP 2) [23-9-5-2-2] 3 (4) Haim - Falling (6 wks / HCP 3) [19-8-5-4-4-3] 4 (16) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. This is my favourite song on it and my second favourite single from what I've heard of theirs - 'The Only Exception' is my favourite. 30 Radio 1 played this again the other day, it's incredibly short but is a nice song. 35 I'm quite interested to see how this performs in the charts. It's already reached #22 upon the album release so it can't do any worse than that, but the performance of 'I Can Only Imagine' and 'Just One Last Time' show that this era is struggling to get more hits. However, after the decent airplay it got upon album release (considering it wasn't a single) suggests that radio stations are going to be backing this a lot, which could push it into the Top 15. I'm sure it will do fine! :D Brilliant Top 10!

This isn't a great song but I like it just enough to chart it. 35 - This is getting a proper release in the next few weeks so it's the perfect time to chart it! 39 - Don't worry, it will climb over the next few weeks, the song is everywhere atm! Thanks for commenting and welcome back home!

I've never been a Paramore fan but I love this song, not what I expected from a Paramore track at all. 'The Only Exception' was a nice song :) 30 - Yeah it's not the longest song ever is it  I still prefer his earlier singles but this should continue to sell the album for him. 35 - Once radio and TV airplay picks up, I think 'Play Hard' should easily go Top 20. It's nowhere near as good as Titanium, Turn Me On etc. which is probably why this era is struggling, and tbh he should have just wrapped up this album by now and worked on a completely new one instead of trying to milk it for all it's worth! Cheers for commenting!
