Posted April 23, 201312 yr Based on the James Dashner book trilogy (The Maze Runner - The Scorch Trials - The Death Cure). "Set in a post-apocalyptic world, young Thomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they're all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow "runners" for a shot at escape." http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1790864 Cast: Thomas - Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf) Teresa - Kaya Scodelario (Skins) Newt - Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Game of Thrones) Alby - Aml Ameen (Harry's Law) Gally - Will Poulter (The annoying cousin from that 3rd Narnia film) Minho - Ki Hong Lee (The Nine Lives of Chloe King) I absolutely love and recommend the books. Cast looks great so far.
September 28, 201410 yr Actually looking forward to this! Looks really interesting and a bit grittier than 'Hunger Games' (which I find enjoyable and I do like, just don't "love").
September 28, 201410 yr AMAZING MOVIE, won't give any spoilers but it was creepy, funny, and sweet at the same time!
September 28, 201410 yr Author It's out 10 October in the uk I had no idea :o We usually get films later than everyone else does, so I figured it would be out. Anyway, it is AMAZING if you don't mind that the entire cast is underage. The ending is excellent and I can't wait for the Scorch Trials! Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger from Game of Thrones) has been cast as the Rat Man. He totally looks the part!
October 9, 201410 yr "The Maze Runner" is a sci-fi adventure which was released three weeks ago in U.S and my country too (rare phenomenon). It's based on the novel of the same name by James Dashner (2009) which was soon adapted to the big screen. Having seen the impressive trailer in theaters, there was no reason to miss this film. "The Maze Runner" is based on a trilogy and the second film is already being planned for next year. The script reminded us somewhat of "The Hunger Games" and "Divergent" but it wasn't an exact copy of them. Although "Divergent" was published two years later than "The Maze Runner" and the latter encountered problems in the original release date (February 14). It was postponed to September 19. It had amazing sets and visuals effects and Wes Ball as novice did a very decent job. To imagine that his biography has only short films and there isn't w wholo lot of information about him so I guess that he is a young guy. Big production studios rarely trust very young directors, especially when a film belongs to the category of blockbuster. Fox, however, entrusted him after the earlier Ball presented a 3D-computer animated short film in a post-apocalyptic world. So, the production studio commissioned him an ambituous project that he could enable it to take it off visually. Of course, it helped him that the story had a very intriguing main idea in which mystery prevails from beginning to end. The truth is that it doesn't give a lot of information to the viewer and in the end it leaves you with several unanswered questions. It has another two sequels and probably the mystery unravels slowly. I suppose that some people will stay dissatisfied with it because they are impatient as my friends. However, I found the performances sympathetic, the photography was great and the plot holds your interest without tiring and repetitive moments (cliches etc.). The only drawaback for me was the choice of the "hunters" in the story because they were seemed childish enough (teenagers are hunted by large spiders in a labrinth? Seriously?). The authour could have more inspiration in this part of the film, without adding something so annoying and childish. "The Maze Runner" is an interesting film choice which is not limited to young people because of the post-apocalyptic content (otherwise..). It had one of the best openings for the September month at the Box Office and it has garnered very satisfactory earnings so far. When a relatively low budget manages to pick up six times over, it will presumably gave many smiles to the producers, director and the cast. It received favorable reviews worldwide and loved by many people (I assume teenagers because of the cast). It has also received a pretty good score on IMDb (7,5). In no case, it's better than "Hunger Games" and "Divergent" even though it has a better score than them. I really doubt the criteria of those who gave a very high score although it's quite good.
October 18, 201410 yr Wow The Maze Runner is possibly my favourite film this year. It was fantastic and very entertaining  I thought Dylan O'Brien was amazing (and in the meantime I have developed a mini crush on him and he's really hot :kink: :kink:) and the rest of the cast was fantastic- especially Kaya  The special effects were amazing especially for a small budget and the direction was fantastic. I also loved the story and found it really interesting and gripping I have bought the book and I am going to start reading it next week :)
October 20, 201410 yr I saw this and it was not actually too bad. It was clearly flawed and the characterisation wasn't amazing but it was intriguing and I'd definitely tune in for a sequel. Better than Divergent anyway.
October 28, 201410 yr A sort of Lord Of The Rings goes Hunger Games with younger actors. Best actor is We're The Millers Will Poulter - hard to believe he's English he does the US accent pretty well and can handle any sort of role. It's not bad, but the ending....I say ending. It's nothing of the sort, of course, it's a gap in the plot. Films without a resolution should give advance warnings... PS big plot-hole - perhaps, depends on the next film - is.... HELICOPTER! Duhhhh, fly in for a rescue? 2nd: why kill off the vital young people needed. Scaring them should be enough, not killing them. 3rd. Oasis in a desert? Rain? desert? rural countryside in a desert? would have thought that ability alone would be enough to put resources into... Edited October 29, 201410 yr by popchartfreak
