August 23, 200620 yr I wonder if the next venue has a web cam, not sure which concert is next, leeds possibly Ahem, Glasgow is next!
August 23, 200620 yr  Very much doubt there'll be a webcam at Hampden. If there was one it was probably stolen the day after they put it up. I used to work in an Office in Glasgow that was being bothered by vandals. The bosses decided to fit a security camera and it was stolen the first night.

August 24, 200620 yr :cheer: Wiley's review!!!! Hi peeps, still in Bern at my friends place - sorry I couldn`t write earlier but her pc is in her bedroom and as she has to work today I had to wait til now for my review. It`s quite long, I`m afraid... just saw I typed for about 2 and a half hours... A very brief review at first: It was an amazing show. I couldn`t enjoy it as much as I would have loved to, but that wasn`t Robbies fault. He was really great last night - if he wasn`t fit he didn`t show it at all. His voice was back, he was smiling a lot and as it was already reported in the press article his usual stage self (the slip for example - although I have to say it was one of those thongs radio NRJ gave out to fans already in Vienna, so it wasn`t a used one but a PR slip). Me and my friends arrived at 9 am and there were only about 20 people there so we had a very good place in the queue. The weather was perfect - warm and sunny, getting even hot in the afternoon. Queueing was extremely relaxed - there was a huge shopping mall just 2 minutes away where we could buy food and drinks and they had clean toilets as well. Oh, and their CD shop had one of those IC card board Robbies in front of their shop, and as a lot of peeps from the queue went to the mall, a few of them took the chance and made a foto of card board Robbie (some even snuggled up with him and gave him a kiss, much to the bewilderment of other shopping mall customers who couldn`t understand why a card board did attract that kind of behaviour). So we queued and were able to sit til about 3.20 pm - amazing! Would have been impossible in Germany but I know why I love Swiss gigs so much. The gates were opened at 3.50 and it was soooooooo relaxed, I could even WALK to the catwalk and got a spot in front row next to my friends. We sat down again until 6 pm when Orson came on. I really liked them, great band. They rocked. At 7.30 Basement Jaxx came on stage and the trouble began. Dunno if it was the heat or if my breeakfast sandwich wasn`t okay - but I felt more and more sick. My stomach was cramping and it didn`stop. When it got close to 9 pm things got even worse as people from behind were pushing like mad - usually not THAT much of a problem for me but yesterday I felt like being pregnant and getting endlessly pushed into the belly. I thought I was going to throw up - or rather down on my stuff which we we allowed to store behind the fences. One of the sec guards (who were all SO LOVELY!!! ) came to me and asked my if I was okay as I was almost hanging upon the fence with a Kermit green face so I asked him if he could maybe calm down the crowd a bit but he said he can`t do anything. So I tried to tell people behind me that it doesn`t make any sense to push even more as we front row people already WERE at the fence but as usual noone cared - in fact a few of then even laughed in amusement about my attampt to decrease the pressure. Next moment, the girl at my left (about 15), who clealy saw I was about to vomit grinned at me and told me "Life is tough" and "I could always leave if I want to." That was the first moment of the night I felt misplaced. Rob came on at 9 pm and of course the stadium went wild. The sound was quite crappy where I was - the music was way too loud but as everybody was screaming like mad anyway nobody gave a $h!t ... except for Rob, as after the sound remained that poor for the next 2 songs, he audibly said "Turn me up" and instantly he was heard much better. Well, as I said if he wasn`t well, he hid it perfectly. The crowd loved him and his voice sounded good. He told the doctor story again , flirted with a girl in front row and made fun about the name of the stadium - it`s called "Wankdorf" stadium. Rob said when he got told the name of the venue he had to laugh as he was going to perform in the "**** off stadium". Loved that one. Rob did win the footie comp against Jonny and of course "Jonny was Schaise" afterwards. He took it as a man though. All in all it was a great gig and I didn`t regret going there. But I definitely won`t do a second one as two major things bothered me. First of all: On stage stuff. A - The setlist 1) Radio as opener was great - but LMEY has to be song 2 or 3 than. The whole crown went WILD when he played it - but being a part of the ENCORES is just c**p. It gives you the illusion as if the gig just started, in fact it`s almost over. 2) The Swing part. I LOVE MAMS, it was brilliant at RAH and I think Jonny is a great singer and it`s so obvious how much they enjoy their company on stage. But it didn`t really belong there. It kinda stopped the flow of the show. When Rob did "One for my baby" during the 2003 tour it fitted. But the whole thing with Jonny somehow felt misplaced. Rob said he wouldn`t be touring without Jonny being with him... dunno how to feel about that. I hope it was a joke. 3) No "Ghosts" although you can read on every board how many people would love to hear it. I am so happy I went to the Velodrome gig so at least I heard it once in my life. This song is the clearest and most outstanding memory of the gig I have. Dunno why he abandons it, it`s beyond my understanding. A million times better than "Sin Sin Sin". Would have been the perfect closing song... "Here I stand victorious". Missed chance. B - The Sound The only times one could truly hear his voice was when he played "Make me pure", "She`s the one" (in parts) and at the end "Angels" again (in parts) without band. These were the songs without band at all or - in the case of MMP - only with acoustics. It`s a shame the music most of the times is too loud so you cannot really hear his beautiful voice. How amazing was his acoustic part during the 2003 tour... now I linger even more for an MTV unplugged with Robbie Williams. Unfortunately the music being too loud is a very common problem wen attending gig, so nothing new there. Still it hurts to experience it, as people usually come to hear the singer and not necessarily the band. Second: Off stage stuff I felt like a piece of $h!t last night and also looked like one. I am used by other crowds at other gigs that if you see somebody next to you being visibly sick, you ask what`s wrong or even offer help. None of that last night. Instead I got gloated, ridiculed and pushed even harder, just to make me give up so the person around me could get into my place. I would in fact have left after 45 minutes as I was physically close to faint. What made me stay til the end was simply that fact that I did` t want to give any f*ckers around me the joy to succeed. Dunno if anybody knows the play "The cat on the hot tin roof". It`t just abount staying there. Not to leave. Just stay there, no matter what. So I did. It clearly pissed the left hand teenie off and it gave me a perverted kind of joy in my pain. As painful as yesterday was for me, it made me realise that the crowd attending RW gigs are very different to those I meet at other gigs. And that`s not meant to be a compliment. In 2003 it was a bit wild and a bit crazy... but today it has reached a point which is frightening. It was already visible during the Velodrom gig. People are really aggressive, some even violent, don`t care about eachothers health or safety and are extremely self-focussed. A lot of them want and WILL do anything (including being violent) to get into front row and that`s something I can`t understand. I probably lack the experience of a front row spot at a proper boy band`s gig... or - maybe a better example - at a Michael Jackson show (I guess he was the only male solo artist from my generation who was able to cause that much of a hysteria as Rob does today). The whole media is focussing on Robbies love life, how desperately he is looking for a wife - and the result it seen at the gigs. I`d say 85% of the people who try to get to front row don`t wanna go there to see something - but to BE SEEN. By their future wanna be hubby! It`s not about the music or the musician anymore. It`s just about getting his attention, either with the clothing or with some kind kind of sexual banners . Preferably both. It was so obvious yesterday, it hit me like a hammer. Didn`t he say "I could $h!t on stage, people would love it" in Nobody Someday? Well, the hype around him definitely has reached a point where this is true. I never experienced such a madness before. In no way this is comparable to 2003. There were always people who replied when asked about what they like most about RW: "His bum"... or that "he`s hot" or that they fantasise of having sex with him. But they seemed to be in the minority. Today I get the feeling it has completely turned. His music has become a sidenote to his body and that`s a development I find . It`s just scary to witness that many peoples primary aim when attending an RW gig is to end up having sex with him and for this violently push anything or anybody else aside which might get in their way. I somehow understand this is common among hysterical teenagers, seeing a boy band, but RW fans are mostly married with kids. The average age of the first wave fans was about 30 I`d say! I`ll never understand how people can get so mad about someone they don`t even KNOW that they are willing to erase their human kindness - and it`s nothing I wanna think too deep about. It was a great show yesterday, I absolutely enyojed it (although rather with my brain and not so much with my body ) but I won`t do a second gig. It was beautiful to see him and I am looking very much forward to his next tour. I definitely will be there - and maybe some of the above mentioned things will have gone "back to basics" than. Thanks Wiley
August 24, 200620 yr Author Wow, brill pictures, that stage looks awesome, can't wait to see it for real Thank you to Wiley for the review  and Twinkle for posting it  After reading it, it sounds really scary to be at the front and I'm wondering is it really worth all that queuing to be made to feel like Wiley did. I for one would not stand by and watch someone being ill and find it amusing :arrr: Unfortunately there are some people around that aren't very nice and spoil things for others. I really hope that all Robbie concerts aren't like this  because I find it quite worrying
