December 4, 201311 yr Author They've got good promotion on Christmas Day. Strictly Come Dancing (Hopefully Rochelle dances to a Saturdays' song) Top Of The Pops (They will sing nothing other than What About Us... hopefully they do the original routine)
December 4, 201311 yr YES! I want the original dance routine for sure! Hopefully that will have a big impact on gift card effect which is from that day! I know its only around 3.5million viewers, but thats better than fecking Daybreak
December 4, 201311 yr I remember when one of the member here - I think it was Wallace- went like "I hope they get a TOTP slot...nah, they never would" and BAM there you go, they have one. Performing What About Us might also be the best for the album during Christmas time.
December 4, 201311 yr Would have been great if they performed on Strictly Christmas Special as well as Rochelle's dancing.

I don't think it was, performing on TOTP is a rather easy slot to secure. I actually think they management have done well regarding there promo this year, of course it would have been nice to see them on Jonathan Ross / Graham Norton. I think promotion for the next single would be incredible if they managed Dancing On Ice / Chat Show. I think the main reason the album underperformed was due to the quality of the album itself. It's worrying that the label are not putting trust in the girl and not trying to secure rights to better songs. I wonder what they're going to do for the next album? I doubt they will be paying for recording sessions with Rodney Jenkins. I honestly believe a Greatest Hits is on it's way next year (most likely to be released in November)
December 4, 201311 yr I know Rodders charged $20,000 per song for the Spices on the Forever songs - but that was 99/00 Edited December 4, 201311 yr by DiscoLove

It was actually Shadow. I can't see 'What About Us' going back to the top 40 on iTunes even if they do perform on Top of The Pops (which they won't, let's face it). The problem is that while it was a big hit, it wasn't MASSIVE. It had amazing first week sales but compared to the likes of Blurred Lines, Get Lucky, Wake Me Up etc it was a very average sized #1 for 2013. The rest of your post isn't worth commenting on, though.
December 4, 201311 yr And I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for your meddling Hurricane!

I honestly believe a Greatest Hits is on it's way next year (most likely to be released in November) I agree with greatest hits but what if Una or Rochelle fall pregnant again, as it is constantly hinted at by Marvin that they are going for a big family. + greatest hits, what songs do you think? I think these ten would make it at least: 1. Up 2. Just Can't Get Enough 3. Issues 4. Forever is over 5. Ego 6. Higher 7. Notorious 8. All Fired Up 9. What about us 10. Gentleman HOWEVER, I do think both Rochelle and Frankie on different strictly shows at Christmas and new year will be good exposure for the group in general!
December 5, 201311 yr And I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for your meddling Hurricane! Aww sorry babe, but it wasn't really meant as "In your face, hater!" or anything else mean. It's more like "see, we can be positive sometimes!".

Anyway, I think a greatest hits and an extended break might be a good idea. Clearly they want some time for family, so maybe a year to do whatever they want after a greatest hits which is released next Q4. Although if the greatest hits performs well, it would be silly not to build on its success.

December 5, 201311 yr I will never understand the fascination with them releasing a Greatest Hits. Do you all honestly want that? For them to waste another year just promoting old material? As a fan I want a new album with new material (where we don't have half of the tracks prior to the album release) and I don't think releasing a Greatest Hits will do anything for them at this point because their two most recent albums have underperformed. They need to build momentum and a stronger fan base with a normal release that's actually done right and then release a Greatest Hits when people are actually interested in one. My opinion aside, I don't see them releasing a Greatest Hits this year because they have said in interviews that they will be recording a new album right after the tour. I also don't anticipate Una having another baby anytime soon (she said so herself). The only one I worry about is Rochelle because she ruined the WAU/America campaign and I can see her doing it again. She seems to be the most engrossed in her own life/relationship and her primary focus seems to be picking up side projects with Marvin <_<
December 5, 201311 yr Perhaps if greatest hits was released after the tour and enabled them to have more time to record the album? I'm not slating them in anyway as I love all the albums, but they do seem to rush around a bit - like with headlines!, that wasn't even due to release content in 2010 but still did and on your radar came through right after.
December 5, 201311 yr I think it's unfair to say Rochelle ruined the campaign because she got pregnant. That's a little rude. And if she has side projects that's great :) Doesn't mean she doesn't have time for the Saturdays. They're doing fine and always have been regardless into couple of hurdles they've overcome :) Edited December 5, 201311 yr by jsg2013
December 5, 201311 yr Author Back on topic :D I forgot to mention that The Saturdays' might get a boost in Ireland from Una's dream ticket as The Saturdays are performing like 6-8 songs on it!

I'm looking forward to it! I always appreciate an HQ Saturdays set. I just hope it's all live. I imagine it'll be a bit like 24/7 with the performances scattered around.
December 6, 201311 yr They're on Strictly this Sunday! We're performing on the @BBCStrictly stage THIS Sunday on the results show! Make sure you tune in!! #SatsOnStrictly
