December 7, 201311 yr I think they managed to get the Strictly slot because of Rochelle performing on the Christmas special. The promotion for ' Living For The Weekend ' has been incredible, it's a pity that sales haven't represented their hard work. Hopefully their strictly performance will be enough to get them back into the top 75 on the album charts which would be rather ideal. What? The promotion for Disco Love has been beyond amazing, but nothing came after it for the album bar that tv-show with the old guy (but let's be honest, it felt more like a Disco Love promo again) and finally Strictly Come Dancing. Thing is, this promo slot is too late. I don't believe it will help the album much. :(
December 7, 201311 yr Big or small a Strictly performance is going to give any artist some kind of boost. Disco Love will probably go back into the top 75 if they perform it.
December 7, 201311 yr "Back into the top 75" is kinda shit, to be fair. Disco Love was used on Paul O'Grady, Surprise Surprise, Live Lounge, Stepping Out, Sunday Brunch, Daybreak, Alan Titchmarsh and other stuff and still only lasted about six weeks in the top 40 and sold about 120K. It's just not going to be a big hit. It was released two months ago! An album track could either be a promotional disaster or amazing. Leave A Light On could do well and sell the album but it could also bomb. Not Giving Up wouldn't sell the album but it's single campaign could be kicked off with a bang if it does well.
December 7, 201311 yr At the end of the day Promo is Promo even if it gets 10 more sales of the album, they are still making sure people know they are still around and will ultimately help in terms of the next single.
December 7, 201311 yr Finally some Saturdays promo I can watch What time do the guest usually perform?
December 7, 201311 yr Author What? The promotion for Disco Love has been beyond amazing, but nothing came after it for the album bar that tv-show with the old guy (but let's be honest, it felt more like a Disco Love promo again) and finally Strictly Come Dancing. Thing is, this promo slot is too late. I don't believe it will help the album much. :( I think you need to re-read what I said! I said the promotion has been incredible and it's a pity that the promotion has not resulted into good sales....
December 7, 201311 yr Nah, you said the promo for 'Living For The Weekend'. It didn't have any promo. They stopped everything the second it was released except for that Alan performance which always felt more like a way to make Disco Love spend another week in the top 40 than a way to promote the actual album. Strictly Come Dancing, which I agree with you, is an INCREDIBLE promo slot, is coming just a bit too late into these things. The album has been out for two months now. It doesn't even feel like it's for the album. ------- The promo they did for Disco Love has actually resulted in good sales, the song started with 50k! Which is, shall I make you remember, their 5th highest first week sales. 114,292 - #01 - What About Us 68,922 - #03 - All Fired Up 64,785 - #02 - Just Can't Get Enough 57,157 - #03 - Missing You 51,490 - #05 - Disco Love Take into consideration that Just Can't Get Enough was a charity single and that Missing You was doing better on radios than anything they have released and with even more promotion I think and it makes Disco Love's first week look a lot more amazing. So tell me how exactly did the promotion not pay off for Disco Love? 51k sales & top 5 : it did WONDERS for the song which most of us thought would chart at #10. The only reason it's only at 120k right now is because, as I said, they stopped everything after it was finally released and radios also stopped playing them. They went from like #25 on the day it charted on the charts to like #47 and then out, or something.
December 7, 201311 yr I vote they get an award for most under rated band of the year or something. They Deserve it!!
December 8, 201311 yr I think they did Disco Love. They had dancers for the performance so I doubt they did a ballad. https://pic.twitter.com/7AYGZVCCsR

I never once mentioned their promotion was poor, I've been the first to mention their promotion this campaign has been nothing short of fantastic.
December 8, 201311 yr wuuuut? Where do you get that "poor" thing? And it's not the same thing at all. Living For The Weekend wasn't adressed/mentioned at Daybreak, Stepping Out, Surprise Surprise, Alan Titchmarsh... I don't think it was ever mentioned on Sunday Brunch either. Actually, the only time the album was promoted was on Paul O'Grady where he had a copy of the album and shown it to the public. It doesn't make sense to consider the Disco Love promo as promo for the album when the album itself wasn't even mentioned during these slots. Like, how am I supposed to know they have an album out? They have so many pre-album singles that the only thing you hear on these TV show is "The Saturdays are here performing the new single from their upcoming album!" The album is coming. Right, but when? Is it out in a week, is it out now, is it out in 7 months like it was the case for What About Us? Do you understand what I mean? Hell, I don't even think they said such a thing in these performances. It was basically only "Here are The Saturdays performing their new single 'Disco Love'!" and that's it. :( That's not even an attack on you, Lee-baby. It's just that people reading you will think you're right when, well... you're kinda wrong... I only made that comment because you said the promo for the album didn't pay off...What promo exactly? It was only promoted on Paul O'Grady, the rest was purely for 'Disco Love' as it was the only thing adressed by the TV hosts. And then I said that the 'Disco Love' promo (because it was only for 'Disco Love', not LFTW) was indeed incredible and paid off at least (#5, 51k sales, etc, etc.) Hope everything's clear now, love.
December 8, 201311 yr If / when they perform Disco Love tonight I can't wait to see it shoot up from the dismal 278 it is on iTunes at the moment. Next Sunday will probably be he first time the song has actually climbed. I'd say that this is probably one of the best promo slots they've ever had, no? If they do a similar performance to the one they did on Paul O Grady I think it'll do really good things for them.
December 8, 201311 yr i had a whole pub doing the baby baby baby move on friday. anything for a few itunes sales init
December 8, 201311 yr Ahh I'm so excited!! And can you guys stop arguing over Disco Love and living for the weekend please. Just deal with where everything has charted how much they've sold and how successful they have actually been this year regardless of promotion!! This has been an exceptional year for our girls!!
December 8, 201311 yr Author I wouldn't say it's been an exceptional year for the girls. ' What About Us ' looked likely off Saturdays' going to have there most successful campaign but it all went downhill from ' Gentleman '. For me this year has been full of frustration (as usual). ' What About Us ' went top #15 (iTunes) In New Zealand, they never promoted in there or Australia. ' What About Us ' went top 30 on German iTunes and with no promotion it peaked at #44. I have no idea why they didn't' promote in Germany.
December 8, 201311 yr Nah but they pulled it all back with Disco Love which they've promoted their ass off With!! I mean, 2 months later and here we have probably the biggest slot of their career so far for a song 2 months Old!! They're trying to do this campaign justice :D
December 8, 201311 yr I agree that the promo has been great - and I think the best way to promote an album is with the songs off of it. I think Surprise Surprise has been their most useful promo, and while they did quite a lot more, it wasn't anything with a huge audience. Until tonight. Not to mention Frankie's back - and she's the public's most popular Saturday. I'm excited to see the performance and what it might do for them come next Sunday.
December 8, 201311 yr They're performing 'What About Us'! The Saturdays @TheSaturdays 1m Can't wait for our performance of #WhatAboutUs on @bbcstrictly tonight! Tune in to BBC1 from 7:20pm #SatsOnStrictly https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Ba-YklxIMAAS6pz.jpg:large
December 8, 201311 yr GOOD. I got the Disco Love, but What About Us would have a much better chart effect, help the album more as its more well known and clearly popular. This is what we need for 400k/top 40 year end! Im chuffed - also Frankie can do something. Disco Love would be awkward with her as she doesnt get any letters/words/lines. I'd quite like them to do three WAU performances now to celebrate this (EXCEPTIONAL) year they have had head of the new single in the new year. LOVELY NEWS <3
