Winner of The Voice UK series 1 Leanne Mitchell has just released her first post-winning single, "If I Knew Then", with the album due to follow on 27 May. I assume she'll get a performance slot on one of the live shows of the current series, which will save the campaign from being a total disaster, but it's still a shame that she's not going to get more than that, as she was fantastic on the show last year and was a deserving winner.

There isn't an official video released yet for the single, but there's a live video below:

It's obviously still very much inside her comfort zone, but hopefully the album will produce a nice listen:

1. "Pride"

2. "No Man's Land"

3. "To Love Someone Like You"

4. "If I Knew Then"

5. "Pull Me To Pieces"

6. "Walk You Home"

7. "If Loving You Is Wrong"

8. "Something About You"

9. "Stranger In The Room"

10. "Keep On Waiting"

11. "Deep Blue Sea"

12. "I Put A Spell On You"

The Voice has to give her a performance slot, it might help her out too, i feel sorry for her, i liked her on the show, she was a surprise winner but she has just got slated and slated ever since, id like her album to go at least top 10 for her as if not the press will maul her.

This has number 1 written all over it!!

Seriously though she hasn't been supported at all, least they can do is give her a slot to perform her single and maybe even duet with someone.

Honestly she's just been a massive victim of the reception the show she came from got. By the time she won The Voice, it was a complete laughing stock, and with the failure to advertise her winner's single resulting in it completely bombing, she was simply doomed from the start. How she even managed to convince herself to make the album I'll never know - were I her I don't think I could have brought myself to record.
First time I've heard that song, she has an amazing voice. Shame about promotion and lack of support.

A song song titled "Pride" has been sent to everyone subscribed to her mailer! It's fantastic; much more out-there than "If I Knew Then" and it actually contains a melody. Production-wise, it's quite similar to "Rolling in the Deep" with the drumbeats and backing chorus. I have NO idea why this wasn't chosen as the single over the Dido reject "If I Knew Then" -_-

In fact, not even Dido. Katie Melua! :P

Just listened to the preview on iTunes and I totally agree. If I Knew Then is such a weak lead single, she reaches all the correct notes on it but it doesn't feel like there's any emotion behind it.
Heard the clip of this on iTunes. I'm surprised she won. Her voice is OK but nothing fantastic. The song is very average. She won't do well at all.
Just saw the 'If I Knew Then' video trailer and I kinda liked it :P

This is not even top 100 in the midweeks and has sold about 500 copies so far. Oops.
This is going be so bad for the image of The Voice.
Turns out 'No Man's Land' is a cover of one of my favourite Beverley Knight songs. Nothing on the original as far as I'm concerned, but it's nicely done. This is doing much worse than I expected, I thought she'd manage a low top 40 position at worst considering the time of year and the association with The Voice.
Has any version of the voice produced someone that can sell albums?

Literally the only success story I've heard of from any of The Voice's various series is the Australian winner who's album went double platinum, but then so does everything there  Plus she hasn't released anything since. The three American winners probably did worse than Leanne, afaik only one of them actually released (and the last winner has a single coming out).

I guess that shows that people are put off by The Voice because it comes across as TOO credible for the general public to handle. At least people don't have to make the effort to seem "cool" (which is due to where it comes from more than anything else) when they buy a Marcus Collins album!

Makes me wonder why people audition in the first place when theyre not even going to get anything out of it.

I think Cassadee Pope has potential to do well in US.

There's still hope though, The X Factor struggled at first. How many seasons of The Voice has aired in the USA so far?
