Mollie can't really make a song her own, you could easily replace Mollie.

Frankie OWNS One Shot & Faster.

One Shot chorus is mostly Ina and Vanessa though. Frankie may have recorded some harmonies for it, but I even doubt it, it's all the first two. It's a bit like Higher. When they first performed, she was all over the chorus, but it turns out on the studio version, it's only Vanessa and Ina. And I doubt this isn't the case again. It's like when Mollie opens the chorus with the "all i am is ...." It's Ina!

Live, Frankie sounds whiny and like a goat, especially when she uses her vibrato (both on One Shot and Faster actually). They have performed One Shot without her and it sounded good. She has her place in the group like everyone else but she's also replacable.

Frankie sounds the best when she sings in her head voice. It's lovely, although a bit weak, but it's usually the case with head voices. Here's an example >

It's really sweet and soft. Or on her chorus of I Can't Wait. She sounds lovely! Which is why I always find it harsh when people say she's shit. She's not, but she does have the weakest voice (or at least, the voice with more flaws within the group).

I remember when she was absent (a few times, now), Mollie, Una and Rochelle all sounded better than her on her parts. Especially that middle-8 of Notorious which is why I thought it was funny it was brought up as "one of her best part".

I thinks of Frankie as the face of the group along with rochelle. They are instantly the most recognisable. I think, honestly, they are the main reason that the band had quite a good start. :)
I'd say Frankie was superior vocally until the On Your Radar era. Outside of acoustic performances, she cannot hold a note. Her tone is better but she is usually shaky, off key, or her lines are overpowered by the other girls. Her solo in Higher has basically been given to Mollie and in the live performances of What About Us they've been having Mollie sing her lines with her.

I find her less shaky than Mollie and they both are very rarely off key. Have you ever heard of harmonies? just watch a performance of Denial by the Sugababes Heidi sings throughout.

I love Frankie's studio voice and am always drawn to watch her in performances, and she's easily the best dancer of the group but it's really awkward when she sings. Everything is so predictable. She usually just walks to the centre of the group, sings a few words, swings her hips and raises her left arm then sings the other few words and goes back to doing the dancing. Her lines are also quite dull, especially in What About Us.

I hate Mollie's voice because it sounds so nasal and like she's singing through her nose, but she's more capable than Frankie.

Sweat the small things starts on the 30th April, I wonder if it will help What About Us?
I think what makes a good singer is not someone who can do amazing high notes (that's just a plus,) but someone who simply has a nice tone to their voice & I think Frankie has that. She was the lead in the juniors (along with Stacey/Rochelle) & it seems like sometimes we (as in the people) discredit her vocal ability because we are comparing her voice to Vanessa or Rochelle. Their individuality is what makes them great as a whole, which is why I don't think any of them are replaceable.

LOL at the rumour/lie

Its like the tracklisting of the album is confirmed as

01 What About Us

02 What About Us (Feat. Sean Paul)

03 Not Giving Up On Love

04 Gentleman

05 Lease My Love

06 30 Days [bonus Track]

They will have recorded a whole lot more in the last 18 months than the songs featured in Chasing The Saturdays

I think Roch is gonna shine on this album, her vocals have gotton better with every release! Even 'Ness knows Roch is the queen

Perfectly put.

I know what harmonizing is. No need to be condescending.

Anyway, I think Frankie's vocal issues are basically due to a lack of confidence, not ability. I've been pleasantly surprised by her ability to take over some of Rochelle's vocals.

Mollies voice in this! :w00t:

She sounds amazing, indeed. What I don't get is why she sounds a bit like she has a lisp in the studio version and not live. Like, it doesn't make sense. Technically, if she truly had a lisp, it would be obvious live, but not in the studio as the producer could ask her to redo it because she sounds like this, etc. But no, it's actually the opposite, haha.

The autotune is so not needed though. It sounds bad on Una because she has quite an high-pitched voice sometimes.

I've decided, I'm going to clean the page up, it seems to all be a bit messy.

Do you think instead of making topics such as appreciation threads would be better discussed here? It would create better discussion.

But would it not be messy to make a general discussion thread with all of that inclusive considering you've got an entire forum which can be used instead? Like with the iTunes Watch, it'd be easier for people to locate the general information about a certain topic. Up to you ofcourse! :P

We already have a My Heart Takes Over topic though on Page 2 when it was being released as a single, instead of making an appreciation thread it would be much better if it was done in the My Heart Takes Over instead of making a new topic.

But wouldn't the appreciate thread be purely to "appreciate" the song, the single discussion thread would be in the vein of a genera discussion about the single? Although I see your point as having two is pretty pointless considering the post content would not differ at all. I guess it all in all depends on the specificity of the thread. :)

I totally agree with you regarding that some topics deserve to be seperate. (iTunes etc). I'm just trying to avoid topics that are created and have around 4-5 replies on it!

Another favourite live performance of mine is easily this..

.

The crowd are fantastic and are so into the song. It's funny when the Sean Paul " Hey Girl, Give it up " and the crowd just stop.

I've just heard The Way You Watche used in the background in some tvshow that's playing in the staff room at my work. No idea what the show is.
I remember hearing it in H&M early last year! They love playing The Sats; they played Ladykiller once too! :)
