THE Saturdays’ TV show following the girls trying to crack America has been canned — leaving their hopes of US stardom in tatters.

The singers failed to secure a second series of Chasing The Saturdays during talks with execs at channel E! in LA.

Insiders said bosses pulled the plug after viewing figures slumped to 100,000.

A source told The Sun: “It got killed in the ratings. US fans like drama and conflict but The Saturdays actually liked each other.”

Last night a Saturdays spokesman said they are in talks for a Christmas special.

We've still not heard anything regarding them supporting Justin Bieber on tour....
I was hoping it wouln't happen because I'm really in need for a new Sats album and all these "new plans/things" keep getting in the way of the new album. First, they said it would be out in Spring. Then in Summer. And now it's "later this year".

 

Shame, but wasn't a surprise.

 

It still pisses me off how the US campaign was handled. I've said this about a million times but I need to say it again, the song was #102 on US iTunes after ONE TV performance. No airplay or anything, just ONE TV performance. To show how impressive that is, Cher Lloyd's 'With Ur Love' had decent airplay, radio tours and TV performances AND was following a double platinum single in the US and it hadn't even reached that high. It takes months of promotion for new artists to get that high on iTunes and yet The Sats were there with ease. The song could have been an easy smash hit if it was sent to radio properly and they continued with promotion but they came back to the UK and now look at where the song is - currently #913 on the Pop Chart. Now Frankie is pregnant, Rochelle is about to give birth, they have a "flop" reputation and an upcoming single/album release in the UK, it's obvious the US dream is over already. Remember how all the way through 2012 we were told that "2013 is going to be a HUGE year!!"? Well it's already the middle of May and we've only had one single out in the UK and they had about five TV appearances in the US.

 

Such a huge, huge waste. I genuinely think What About Us could have been a hit in America but such awful decisions were made by whoever was in charge of them.

I'm not surprised to be honest. The general audience in US/Canada want drama. Think about it, all the highest rated shows with girls/women are ones where they're fighting: Kardashians, Bad Girls Club, Real Housewives. It's sick and twisted & the girls said it themselves the producers were hoping for fights but they just didn't get it. Someone tweeted: "oh the show is fake because 5 girls didn't fight which is not real" LOL this is how people on this side of the world see reality TV.

 

I can only pray for a miracle that coming to America isn't over & that Mercury will give the Sats a chance to launch properly, the way all other artists do it instead of relying on a less than successful reality show. But I'm not sure considering the circumstances, the girls just got knocked up at a very inconvenient time. I'm sorry to say it.

Lol that's so true. You know I think it's over in the US. As badly as I wanted this to happen, I just think it's too late. :cry:

It's not too late, it won't just happen until they go there and visit the whole country, give their 200% instead of just their 100%.

I think that's the most annoying thing. Practically everyone who's had a hit in the US has done so through tons of radio tours, gigs, TV shows, personal appearances, interviews, sometimes 3 or 4 radio stations in a day etc. The Sats spent about six months filming a reality TV show. I mean, who the f*** thought that was going to give them a hit??

The US could still work out, they could go back in summer and release the Sean Paul version of WAU to get them into 'summer mood' and then do a massive tv show appearance and a radio tour. Or they will probs spend summer going on holidays and doing 'summer tours' that last like a week :(

The Sats won that poll by 13 votes. I managed to get it from 47% to 48% by voting four times lol. Yeah they won on 50% each way bit the victory is 100% theirs, rightfully so! Who the hell are the McClain Sisters? Everytime I voted it went up about 30 times the McClain Sisters votes went up about twice the whole time. Woohoo for The Sats.

And then there were 3 :rolleyes: What a joke. But my two favs are still there so it's all good. Speaking of, Mollie looks the best she's ever looked in the other picture of the three of them with their new hairstyles. Una looks great as always.
