shocked to see that the highest placing UK artist is at number 34!!! must be an all time low for UK artists in the US...

Erm, I'm pretty sure that for quite a while until about 2 years ago it was pretty rare for any British artists to be even top 40

(Besides, Charli XCX is British and at #7 anyway...)

Uh, yeah, bearing in mind that the Billboard Hot 100 went all through 2002 without having a single British artist chart, no.

i don't think it is... it was already released to alternative radio so it will.not.be added.to.pop or mainstream radio anytime soon....

If anything, the fact they've already "released" it to alternative stations is a pretty clear sign that it WILL be the next mainstream single.

Yeah, it's the obvious next single, it's already top 100 and been #1 in Australia, I can't see what else they'd go with?

Blue never had a song chart in the US

S Club 7 reached #10 with Never Had a Dream Cme True, but that was in 2001

Daniel Bedingfield is from New Zealand

Possibly 2001 then? I may have got it mixed up and it was actually just that there were weeks in 2001/2 where there wasn't a single British artist in the BBH100, but either way, it isn't an all-time worst for UK artists at all considering it's only been a recent resurgence.

I agree (although I don't understand why they didn't send Can't Hold Us to alternative radio, since they surprisingly played Thrift Shop a lot).

Same Love is already in rotation on a lot of pop stations even. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis don't have a record label, but I'm sure they themselves are aware of this. The fuss over whether it becomes a single or not is so ridiculous. It's been a while since I've seen such an obvious single choice, I don't know why people are worrying so much. :drama:

On another note, Ciara didn't drop as much as I expected!

What's Harlem Shake's full chart run? For a song that spent quite a few weeks at #1 it must be one of the fastest fallers in US chart history :o
Can't be many 5 week #1's that have fallen so quickly  And thanks, I didn't realise!

Chart runs are in the US Charts Analysis thread.
