Oh gwon J. Cole + Miguel! What's caused this surge? I assumed it had peaked at #76.

I'd love for StooShe to go top 10 again and for Demi to climb!
:cheer: another top 40 for Miguel, amazing! Now can Adorn please get UK promotion, it has lots of potential!

Radio 1 playlisted Do You... at least a while ago lol.

It seems like sometimes an artist has a big hit and then Radio 1 see that and decide to playlist the follow-up (which usually people don't like as much), but sometimes I think it'd be better if the played the big hit, even if it's really old by the time Radio 1 realize they should've been playing the song.

I'm not sure sales-wise but obviously it's their longest top 40 entry.

Considering it's up to #15 now though it will probably last a few more weeks and will definitely become their best-selling/highest peaking single.

It has a long way to go to catch Misery Business - I suspect that has sold at least 200k by now.

But that wouldn't make them sell *more*, just sooner.

It would make them sell more as there would always be people who investigated the track once it made the top 10, found they liked it and bought it, compared to not making the top 10 and them not being made aware of it.

Wow. If I had to guess I would've said The Only Exception was their best-selling.

I agree. The home page to iTunes gets so many visitors every day probably. Having a song in the top 10 (and therefore being on the home page) would increase sales for sure. Record labels pay a lot of money to have adverts or banners for songs on the homepage.

I'm so pleased that Still Into You might be Paramore's biggest selling single - it's my favourite song from them now.

EP Pre-orders (album chart):

12. La La La (feat. Sam Smith) - Naughty Boy

103. Antenna - Fuse ODG

158. Late March, Death March - Frightened Rabbit

160. Carry You - Union J

184. Soundbwoy - Stylo G

294. I Love It (feat. Charli XCX) - Icona Pop

393. Love Me Again - John Newman

Astonished at how well 'La La La's pre-order has done! I still think it won't get to #1, Daft Punk's album will likely give Get Lucky a pretty big boost

I have a feeling that it will go to #1, it's a shame it's not that great though.

If 'La La La' does go to #1, I can see Daft Punk climbing back to #1 the following week. So ideally, I'd much rather see 'Get Lucky' have potentially six weeks at #1 - it'd be an incredible achievement for Daft Punk.

Why would you want to see a song stay at #1 for ages even if another song is popular enough to overtake it? Don't you think that would get rather annoying?

I wonder what Eurovision songs will get the biggest boost on iTunes after tonight's semi final! Possibly Margaret Berger and Krista Siegfrids will chart the highest, and we could see a boost for

Release Me by Agnes as she

is performing for tonight's interval act but it depends if BBC Three decide to show it or show their own interviews instead!

I would like Naughty Boy/Sam Smith to get at least one week, but i dunno. For some reason it just has '#2 SMASH' written all over it imo

I just find long running #1 hits really special purely because they happen so rarely. Interesting thought...

In 2013, Daft Punk have 4 weeks at #1, drop down to #2 then return to #1 for their fifth and final week.

In 2012, Gotye feat. Kimbra had 4 weeks at #1, dropped down to #3 then returned to #1 for their fifth and final week.

In 2011, Adele had 4 weeks at #1, dropped down to #2 then return to #1 for her fifth and final week.

So yes, I'd like a 6 week run at #1 as it's not happened since 'We Found Love' although even that wasn't consecutive. :P

It would be funny if three year-end #1s in a row had 4 weeks + 1 separate week at #1.

I always forget We Found Love spent 6 weeks at #1. It didn't seem that long at the time.

Naughty Boy to smash plz. 4 weeks is a nice length - not too short/not too long to get bored of it's run.

That's not quite right for Gotye. He had a week at number 1, then dropped down to #3, then returned to number 1 for 4 weeks. :)
