May 17, 201312 yr I love Root Down! It is very positive again and the melody is so catchy :) I can't wait for the album!
July 11, 201311 yr Did anyone by any chance listened to her album? It was streamed on iTunes. I LOVE the album. This is her best work so far in my opinion. She changed her sound quite a lot - to me, the only song that sounds like old Sara is Manhattan, the rest is just so much richer in sound, the melodies are quite different. She has a lot of uptempo/midtempo songs this time like Brave, Hercules, Little Black Dress, Eden, Cassiopeia and I Choose You - however, even the ballads like December, Islands, 1000 Times and Satellite Call are very different from her older material. My favorite song is Cassiopeia - it is such a fun, uplifting song and it is very interesting that she is even singing about constellation in such a fun way :) And I Choose You is perfect wedding song, so sweet, I find Eden also very very interesting lyrically, but also Hercules, Chasing The Sun and December because they sound very personal, she is obviously singing about those hard times she felt in the past year. And Islands is very dark break up song, also quite different from the old stuff. And I actually feel a bit of country vibe on December and especially 1000 Times :) The only song I found very strange is Satellite Call and took me a while to get into it, but I appreciate that she went out of her comfort zone and the lyrics are very good. This is still pop, but she mixed it up a little bit. I understand that some fans are disappointed, but I am not. Sure, Brave is very mainstream and has a Fun vibe, BUT to me that doesn't mean she sold out just so she could have a hit - I mean, Love Song was also very radio friendly and mainstream. Besides, I even if it that song IS screaming for a hit, I say great - because the lyrics are so positive and empowering, so the many people should hear this! Hopefully, this album will be hugely successful - but even if it doesn't, I'm ok with it because I know Sara isn't that kind of artist anyway. Edited July 11, 201311 yr by zeze88
July 11, 201311 yr Love both of these songs, her voice is amazing :) Have to get the whole album now! :o
July 11, 201311 yr Author I'm taking a listen through it right now, it's a great listen, I don't think it's as good as the previous two albums but I adored them and I can't really compare yet. Currently on 1000 Times, this is my favourite so far.

July 11, 201311 yr Author I think the album is definitely a grower so listen to it a couple of times ;) I really think she improved again as an artist. Oh I definitely will! It's a fantastic listen, no doubt about it, but it's not quite up there with the other two just yet, I absolutely adore both of those albums. I'll give it time though, they've had the benefit of a few years of listening...

I listened to it the first time yesterday afternoon and today I'm just replying it over and over because I'm simply over the moon with this album :) I've seen on 1 site that Japanese edition will have a bonus track Parking Lot, but I don't know if that's correct

I look forward to hearing it. Is "I Wanna Be Like Me" and iTunes bonus track? It's not with the album I've downloaded (not an iTunes copy), should be able to get that tomorrow anyway what with the Irish iTunes release, hopefully someone puts it up to download. ^_^ There's also the bonus track Root Down in the first post, IDK where that's from but I love it, wish it was on the main album!

Root Down got the people who pre-ordered the album on iTunes, I love that song too :) And you are right, I Wanna Be Like Me is iTunes bonus track and like you, I jope someone will upload it tomorrow ;) It says that the album is released 24th of July in Japan so we have to wait and see if Parking Lot appears there.

Ah that makes sense! Thanks. :D Oh that's a bit of a delay, hopefully Parking Lot will be worth the wait if it's true! Sara rarely disappoints, I'm just glad she didn't go down the route of the Once Upon Another Time EP, I wasn't a big fan of that really.

Sara rarely disappoints, I'm just glad she didn't go down the route of the Once Upon Another Time EP, I wasn't a big fan of that really. Oh really? I thought that EP was great as well - Once Upon A Time gives me chills, her vocal is exceptional on that, and I especially enjoyed Lie To Me because it was something different from her, while Stay and Bright Lights and Cityscapes are great ballads. I actually think her change on this album came from the EP - she experimented even more which can be can heard on the songs like Eden, Hercules, I Choose You, Cassiopeia, Islands. And by the way, albums always come a little late in Japan so it is not such a big delay :)

It's like she's taken the sound of the EP and mixed it with her older style so she keeps it true to her, which has worked really quite well. And ah, makes sense, I've never actually looked at Japanese release dates.
July 12, 201311 yr Here is I Wanna Be Like Me :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8V4u_ZYl0Q I LOVED it the first 10 seconds I heard it, the melody is SO catchy and cool
July 15, 201311 yr I wasn't expecting to love this album after the drop in quality for me personally between Little Voice and Kaleidoscope Heart but The Blessed Unrest is excellent! The ballads are beautiful and the mid-tempo/uptempos are mostly pretty memorable. Brave has finally clicked with me (although it oddly gives me vibes of Robbie Williams' Something Beautiful!) and Chasing The Sun is brilliant! I want it physically so I'll probably have to import it :(
August 22, 201311 yr I downloaded this album last week sometime and it's such a beautiful album. 'Satellite Call' is BY FAR my favourite "non-'Brave' track" though. So hauntingly, beautiful. So impressed with this album.
August 22, 201311 yr My album of the year for sure, incredible return to form! Actually challenging Little Voice as her best to date :o Brave needs a UK push, it's so unfair that she's left to rot as a one hit wonder here with so much great material besides Love Song. Brave has obvious huge commercial appeal too, although if it did get a UK release now I guess it would look like she was copying Roar :manson:
August 22, 201311 yr Author Brave could actually do really well over here if it got sent to radio and TV, and if she did a couple of performances. Real shame that it's pretty much a wasted opportunity. :(
December 9, 201311 yr This fantastic album has unexpectedly got a Grammy nomination for Album Of The Year! Very highly deserved as after her major sophomore slump after her incredible debut album I'd sort of lost interest in her. But it's all come flooding back this year due to The Blessed Unrest. I'm so pleased for her  Up against Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Taylor Swift and Daft Punk. The latter two I love too, the first two are only alright for me.
