Yes it's here,

Ok I was a bit liberal with the title, this is a rundown of the top 100 best selling singles by acts from Scandinavia (Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland). For the sake of controversy I've steered clear of acts such as Dr Alban (who was born and grew up in Nigeria only living in Sweden after he turned 18) and used the Guiness Book of Hit Singles definition to try to get all the acts in. Where there are duets or groups I've gone with those where either 50% of the credit or 50% of the group are Scandinavian- I hope that's all clear......

I'm sure I've a forgotten someone but any omissions are my mistake so apologies in advance! I've made allowances for downloads so all sales are up until the end of 2012 (some are estimates), thanks to Vidcapper, Andy@haven, MFR, Wikipedia, youtube, discogs, polyhex, MW and Alan Jones plus some sources that wish to remain anonymous.

In honour of Eurovision and recent Scandinavian dominance relax as we count the biggest hits that the area has produced!

I've also included (where I can find them) the positions these tracks made in Scandanavian countries.

Hoping Sigur Rós' 'Hoppípolla' has snuck in here, no idea how much it's sold but it had a fair few weeks on the chart. Probably my favourite Scandi song off the top of my head, along with Swedish House Mafia's singles.
Sounds fabulous, can't wait for this!
Gooddelta will be in heaven here. :D "Rich approves"

Here's a few of my faves that didn't make it :(

All of which SHOULD have been No 1 hits in this country- SHAME ON US! :D

Thank God (not that I believe in him, or anything) for this. It's been over 24 hours since Gezza finished his last thread and I was losing the will to live.

Rather shocked at 'Put 'Em High' not even making the top 100! I suppose 2004 wasn't exactly a super high sales environment.

Yes sorry about that, I did intend to finish the Britpop thread about a week ago but real life kept intervening so it overran. There was going to be a bigger gap before I launched this and that was supposed to be last night but hey ho- I thought you might be missing them

(Also Boyfriend is fabulox². Either way I'm looking forward to this list Gezza, you've FINALLY tempted me in here *.*)
Does Nina Perrson count as 50% for Your Love Alone is Not Enough? :P
Listening to Put 'Em High  I literally adore that track.

It was just a matter of time ;)

She was never officially credited but yes if she had been.

Just making sure, Neneh Cherry will count? :P

Yes

Co-incidentally the last 4 BJSC winners have all hailed from Sweden so when it comes to pop/dance music, the Swedes really do know their stuff.

See what you think of the following:

Frida Sundemo - Indigo

Kate Boy - Northern Lights

Zara Larsson - Uncover

Carli - Look Up
