Yeah I might need this to be, like, drawn for me with crayons or something because I don't understand this at all.

I THINK the reason Spain would be last on both sets of split results would be that Ireland got plenty of middling support but because of the new system, that didn't translate into points anywhere. Spain had Albania, like Lex said, but had just one result been done, Ireland would have gotten more low points to take it ahead of Spain while Spain would still only get what it got originally.

And because of the new system, either of the standalone results is going to be more different to the actual result than it otherwise would be.

+1. My brain is melting.

Poor Bulgaria and Switzerland :( I would support reverting back to 100% televoting, but then having seen Montenegro in 4th place and Romania coming top of SF2, I'm actually pretty glad the juries are there
Okay I think my brain gets it and I understand WHY they introduced this system because it made things a bit fairer but Ireland's position just throws the entire thing into question. Diaspora was still very much alive and well this year so I don't feel the new system made much of a difference anyway.

Here are the split results in a format that is easy to understand for those of you confused by the numbers:

That's helped me to understand it all, so I hope it helps some of you too! :D

Biggest surprises for me are Georgia completely underperforming in the televote, Moldova and Armenia not qualifying with just the televote and Bulgaria and in particularly Switzerland doing so well in the televote.

Armenia not so much given the general reaction but Moldova is a big one!

The juries didn't exactly single-handedly kill Cascada either, likewise Finland...I'm still shocked the public took to Malta so much even after seeing iTunes performance.

Good to see that the juries and televoters both agreed on the winner again. Sweden were THIRD with the juries? Nice to see that the amazing Zlata did better than the painfully average Farid with televoters. Aaargh, Cascada would have done better with televoting :drama: I actually far prefer the televoting results apart from Anouk missing the top ten by a whisker. Can we get rid of the juries again now please! Switzerland and Bulgaria obviously deserved to be in the final, both will be very annoyed at these results!
It's just a bit shit that Belarus and Ireland, who both got pretty much the same 'averages' from both the juries and televotes, finish ten places apart. Want the old system back please. :(

I've added the jury and televoting averages together from final. Some shocking results:

1. Denmark = 11.2

2. Azerbaijan = 13.63

3. Ukraine = 14.4

4. Norway = 15.37

5. Russia = 16.51

6. Greece = 18.28

7. Malta = 20.51

8. Netherlands = 20.75

9. Italy = 21.16

10. Hungary = 23.78

11. Sweden = 24.24

12. Moldova = 25.26

13. Romania = 25.31

14. Belgium = 25.95

15. Iceland = 26.49

16. Georgia = 29.18

17. United Kingdom = 29.49

18. Armenia = 29.55

19. Belarus = 30.26

20. Finland = 30.45

21. Ireland = 30.83

22. Germany = 31.25

23. France = 32.63

24. Estonia = 33

25. Lithuania = 34.68

26. Spain = 42.56

Countries who did better than actual result: Malta, Netherlands, Sweden, Iceland, United Kingdom, Finland, Ireland

Countries who did worse than actual result: Italy, Moldova, Belgium, Georgia, Belarus, Germany, Estonia, Lithuania, Spain

Please comment, and if you want me to do the semi finals, let me know. Thanks

I cant understand how Ireland placed last from seeing the results of both jury and televoters.
I cant understand how Ireland placed last from seeing the results of both jury and televoters.

The little support that Spain got from juries or televoters coincided in the same country. Basically, one way of expressing it would be it being equivalent to Ireland finishing 17th in pretty much every jury and pretty much every public vote, with Spain finishing last everywhere but top ten in the jury and televote of one or two countries where they did well.

Technically, because I've added the jury and televoting averages together, this proves that Ireland should not have been last.

Did anyone want me to do the semi finals?
