I completely agree that MKS are the real Sugababes. All I was saying is that I believe MKS should be seen as a different project to the Sugababes especially since Mutya and especially Siobhan weren't even involved in most of the Sugababes songs. The further they are disassociated with the likes of 'Get Sexy' etc the better.

And it was following on from the talk about RR a few posts up the page. I realise now that they were posted 2 weeks ago but oh well.

Mutya was involved in 4 of the 7 albums and Keisha 6 of them! They are far too connected as bands to ever really separate. Especially when both bands are singing the same former hits live. If their history wasn't so intertwined then I'd agree that they should probably be separated but there ail never be escaping the fact that MKS were the original Sugababes and this is effectively Sugababes 1.1. Very much so if 4.0 has actually called it quits.

I'm following you now! I was totally lost when talk shifted to Round Round and was just like 'the hell?'

While I don't agree with Scene that this topic shouldn't be in this forum, I don't really think there is a need to reply in a manner which does come across slightly aggressive. And to describe Amelle, Jade and Heidi in the way you have above is very disrespectful in my opinion even if you did mean it as a joke. Also, considering that you were saying the 4.0 version and music video for 'About A Girl' in its thread was "amazing" (admittedly saying afterwards that the 3.0 version was even more amazing and yes, for some reason I was reading that thread the other day!), it just seems that you now have to be negative about 4.0 just so you can praise MKS sometimes rather than supporting both.

Anyway, the picture from the 'Flatline' video looks fantastic and I look forward to seeing the full video!

Aside from 'fraudulent sluts' I wouldn't say there was anything to suggest aggression in that post at all. I think there's a big difference in the way we are both reading that. The image of them that came to mind at the time of writing was of the PVC neon monstrosities they wore at G.A.Y. Slutty would be a nice way of describing that particular ensemble, but I agree it wasn't particularly called for.

That AAG comment is like 3 years old! :P The video is still brilliant but I can't clear the thought that it could have been so much better had they not sacked Keisha like the day before. AAG is still the only one of the 6 leaked S7 tracks that comes close to 3.0's version and is still rather bloody good. Crash and Burn also remains outstanding but the majority of Sweet 7 just wore thin and aged horrifically. Then there was the live performances in which they murdered Freak and then committed treason against Too Lost In You. (That's pretty much where all my goodwill/positivity evaporated in a single youtube video.)

What I am most disappointed about (actually root of all the negativity that head's 4.0's way) is that Crash & Burn showed that this line up had some serious potential. It was great lyrically, vocally and live. Then this cheap cash-in attempt at what's currently popular arrived on the scene in the form of Freedom. While there is some ropey as shit stuff on Sweet 7 there are some quality songs hidden in there (Original Thank You For The Heartbreak and Wait For You, Crash & Burn, No More You, Sweet & Amazing come to mind) that retained that Sugababes spark. In Freedom it hit me that the thing that had made me fall in love with Round Round, that spark, was no longer there. I'm more pissed off that they squandered potential than anything else, especially with the 8th album just disappearing without a trace. Pre-Frederm I was actually rather looking forward to it all, the demo that dropped in May 2011 would have been incredible. I just got fed up of the lies and the management's manipulation.

If they came back with something good, I'd throw my full weight behind them and then some. I even downloaded Freedom despite hating it! If they dropped something brilliant tomorrow loon mode would be back on in a flash. I could support both and I probably will do again but for now the bitter disappointment of Freedom still stings (Yes it was 2 years ago, but lest we forget Flatline is the first thing to have come from campSuga since then).

---

Anyway, back on topic....

I'm really hopeful they have some live TV performances lined up for Flatline's release. It's incredible live and their vocal prowess will really help shift units.

Ah, fair enough and thanks for taking the time to explain everything! It just seemed that over the last few days you've made a couple of unnecessarily negative comments about 4.0 both here and I think I read something in the Lounge too and it just seemed like you were negative about 4.0 just so you could praise MKS even more if that makes sense! :kink: And with reading the 'About A Girl' thread the other day, it seemed to me that you don't really dislike 4.0 as much as you have been making out in recent days but like you say that was 3 years ago and opinions can change!

I'm glad to hear that you will still support 4.0 if they return with something as good as 'About A Girl' or 'Crash and Burn' which I agree showed this line-up did have a lot of potential and is also probably my favourite Sweet 7 album track along with 'Wait For You' and 'Little Miss Perfect'. Admittedly, I have never heard the 3.0 versions of any of the Sweet 7 tracks except 'Get Sexy' (where I do prefer the 4.0 version), but I really love Jade and her voice (since I discovered her through the Eurovision selection) and that is what makes 4.0 my favourite line-up and turned me from a more 'casual' Sugababes fan to a proper fan. I think also the fact that I started getting into more and more music through YouTube and the Internet around 2009 rather than having to rely on seeing videos on music channels naturally made me become a lot more interested in a lot of artists including the Sugababes.

I do have every album from 'One Touch' to 'Sweet 7' and the majority of the CD singles - I can remember 'Hole In The Head' was the first Sugababes single I bought and I got both CD1 and CD2 as I seem to remember WHSmith had an offer where you got both CDs for a cheaper price than normal! Also, I never knew about the 1.0 line-up until after discovering 2.0 because I was about 8 years old I think when 'Hole In The Head' was released and that was the first Sugababes line-up I'd known as when 'One Touch' was released I was only 5! :o Therefore, the fact that there are no original Sugababes in 4.0 isn't a big deal to me like it is for the fans who have been there from the beginning because I didn't know Siobhan had been in the band so I'd always considered Heidi to be an original member. In a way I suppose its similar with Atomic Kitten where I had always known them as Jenny, Natasha and Liz ('The Tide Is High' was the first ever CD single I remember buying when I was 7) and not knowing Kerry had been an original member until I was older.

It's just a shame that as soon as I became an even bigger fan of the Sugababes from 'About A Girl' onwards thanks to Jade making me much more interested in the group again after the, in my opinion, fairly average 'Girls', 'No Can Do' and 'Get Sexy', 4.0 only released those 2 singles and 'Freedom'. :( And when 'Freedom' came along, I just loved it which you all know and I know that is an unpopular opinion. But we all have different opinions and that can only be a good thing!

I've only just realised how much I've written, but I'm glad we've had this discussion! :D Hopefully 'Flatline' becomes successful (as the song does get better and better with every listen) and hopefully 4.0 do get to release this 8th album!

Ok well I guess there's never been a situation similar to Sugababes/MKS before so it is bound to have a lot of people confused about whether or not their discographies should be separate.
Seems like they won't be playlisted by Radio 1 at all (and that's the only major radio station that affects the single chart and could playlist it). Well, now I hope the album will be out no matter how the singles flop, and won't follow the steps of "8th" album by 4.0.

It's not out for 4 weeks and Radio 1 adore it. I'm not worried about it not being playlisted. I'd be concerned if it went on the playlist now tbh.

Cringeingggg hell! The videos not even out yet, give it chance.
Maybe I'm overpanicking yeah  But knowing our luck I'm always preparing for the worst.

Even longer now! They've tweeted it's out September 15th.

It's good it was pushed back in my opinion. The video should've been out already if the song was looking to be released on 1/9.
Feels like its been out for ages already! Need to see the video.

I suppose we should expect to see if it's playlisted in about 3 weeks then!

This has proven to be quite a grower, really willing it to get at least top 10. If they can succeed it'll be a nice 'fuck you' to what ended up existing in their place at the end of the 'Sugababes' saga.

That's exactly what I hope...

Just watched this like three times in a row. So incredible to see a video with them all in again. I love it so much, and I'm still completely obsessed with the song.

Siobhan looks phenomenal.
